it was a very bad time to be a black man living in lubbock texas. and tim was sentenced to 25 years in prison and died behind bars without being able to prove his incense. i'm happy to -- incense. i'm happy to let you know the 11-member panel who will exam the convictions to determine what went wrong and make recommendation aimed at avoiding the mistakes made in tim cole's face in the future. on june 1, the governor signed the bill into law affirming all americans are entitled to due process and that tim cole's family can take some small solace in the knowledge that his death has resulted in changes that can provide hope to those who also are wrongfully convicted. also want to applaud tim's brother, corey session, who has worked tirelessly on clearing his brother's name for years and also his late mother, ruby session, who didn't get to see this bill signed into law, she did get to see some changes made in texas. i'm happy for this family. sad that this happened to tim cole but glad that something positive has taken place. mr. speaker, i yield back
