lucas said, in the beginning to craft a farm bill and dealing with the political realities and that stuff but it can be done. you know, passing a farm bill is not supposed to be easy. i mean, people have different priorities and different interests, but we could do this better! again, i just -- you know, and i think it's instructive to us kind of the relative quietness on the other side of this room here. i don't see a lot of people getting up and wanting to talk and defend these proposals. maybe it's because you're seeing them for the first time, like many of us. or maybe it's because you know deep down some of this stuff is indefensible. this didn't have to be this way. i think it's not just us who deserve a better process. it's a people who are trying to help. and, you know, again, i keep going back the fact there's 42 million people in this country who rely on this program, who need this program to put food on the table. that's it. it's a food benefit. we have job training programs. but we have those programs. maybe not to be cutting funding for those programs, as a starter. but to reinvent the wheel to have a new bureaucracy to trust upon the states and nobody c
