month of separation and it's my pleasure to join us here and many of us know that we are such a lucky cityd we are lucky because people around their world make their way to fraction, find hopey until the city they know that we celebrate our diversity and find strength in the different cultures that pretend together and now, i ask you also to bring me talent from the arab america communities to make me and help me lune run the city. yes, it's incredible. union, i think i can talk about how wonderful diversity is, but we have to get the talent from our communities to represent all of the different thing that we do in the city. and you know, tonight, even though there is something called a baseball game out there, but these wonderful events that we have in the city whether it's america's cup whether it's fleet week, whether it's the 49ers playing or the giants playing, even eventually when we land the superbowl it all board of trustees all of us, i know that what i'm doing as a mayor and making sure that i support smallbitions in the city is helpful to the america arab community because all o

i want to recognize things that happen in this city we are a very incredible lucky city for all the things that happen to us. this is one of the moments that recognize all of these special elements that come together modernization, this brand new station, and the firemen and women who will be here and take care of this city as you always have. thank you for making this happen. appreciate it. [ applause ] >> the mayor said it but i think we have a ribbon cutting almost twice a day now in district 6. this is an exciting one. the first constructed fire station in san francisco since 1950. it's pretty amazing considering when the fact that the mayor brought up is the busiest station in san francisco. in my time at the distribution, unfortunately i got to know a lot about the fire department. we have had 13 working fires, several which were very significant and displaced or injured our residents. i learned how hard the fire departmen

continue to be at the forefront of health care delivery, not only here in our city, but across the country. we're extremely lucky in the city. we are the envy of other cities and states in our country. we add two new hospitals. we're product to be here today. i want to introduce one of my colleagues that played such an integral role in the process where one of the brand-new hospitals are going to be built square in his district. he was the biggest advocate for t. he needs to be congratulated for all of his work, supervisor david campos. (applause) >> you know, today i have a number of thank yous i want to go through. but first i really want to comment about our parks and our support for our parks not only in city hall, but with the voters of san francisco. you know, we fight that battle every year in city hall with our budget and we're going through it right now to make sure we prioritize our parks for our families, for our children, for our seniors, for everyone. and the voters of san francisco have done it year in and year out. and parks are for everyone. they're for young people and old people. they're for large people and small people. they're for dogs, they're for everyone that we care about here in san francisco. i see a number of seniors here today. i know one month old emma is here today. this is for everybody and my three children are playing somewhere. we lost them twice already today in the playground. but we are so lucky to have a g

the city is lucky, our community is lucky to have an asset like this, which is a rembrandt on the ground, that people can enjoy for very, very modest fees. this is a treasure and part of the work that you should fund with this action is to move forward one more step so we can see the day when that golf course and the surrounding habitat is fully and properly restored in a responsible manner. and i think what you've got here is a very responsible plan. i know there are people who don't agree with it. there are people who want to shut the golf course down. we've been fighting them for years. now is the time to approve this and move forward. thank you for giving me the opportunity and thank you and the staff again for all the hard work on this most important matter. >> thank you. >> i'll read a few more names. mike walak. amy [speaker not understood]. we're lucky here in the city to be next to some of the richest fishing grounds in the world. our local waters team with salmon, crab, hal butt, saul and hering. they're managed for the most part in great shape. it makes it possible for our small family owned portfolio boats to make a good living. these top of the line products combine with local market street makes it a win/win for the local consumers. tourists come from around the world to eat at our famess seafood restaurants and see the boats. the fishermen and women add genuine color and tradition. salmon season has been one of the best in the last decade bringing transient boats to fill the slips, buy ice, dine in our bars and restaurants and unload their salmon. all this commercial generates millions of dollars for the local economy. it also helps to make fisherman's wharf a world class destination. the fleet thanks you for all your support. i'm sure my great-great, many more greats grandson will be here to congratulate you on your 300th anniversary. i've been, of course, very lucky to be the mayor of this great city. we've had a innovation of great history whether for humans rights or same-sex marriage that's been that spirit in our city. we never left regional or national problems get to us. but i found i've been lucky to the mayor we were faced with very traditionally financial systems that were not going to save us from the likes of detroit and stockton and others. we were really looking at whether we were going to continue to do the same thanks that would bring others into financial problems. i took the realm hoping that all of my years of experience i could have confidence and billed the spirit where we weren't trying to blame each other and except where we are and find the talented the magic between the board of supervisors and at the mayor's office but then the fiscal talent in the city that business talent in the city bring them together with all the neighborhood leaders and find solutions and create those things in ways we, talk about the problems and see the facts. i think that's incredi
