that was a tropical storm, banyan, if you remember, now the remnants are continuing to move away from luzon. but we're still going do see some heavy rain here across particularly the northern and central parts of the philippines. now over the weekend, it looks like the system is actually going to redevelop into a tropical storm again. so we haven't quite seen the last of it. continuing downpours across indochina as well. most of china looking quite dry here. we've got this front line moving across from eastern china up into japan and the korean peninsula. this is going to get a little bit heavy. some areas of western japan, could see maybe as much as 100, 150 millimeters of rain, it will be quite gusty as well. the potential for hail, here, too and then quite stormy and it will be quite wet all the way up towards the north as we head into friday, saturday. and actually even sunday is going to see some heavier rain across hokkaido as this system from northeastern china makes its way across the sea. in terms of temperatures, eight degrees in ulan bator, so very, very cold. the lows are down a

from the northern philippines but still bringing heavy rain as well as strong winds across much of luzonthe system could affect the indo-china peninsula next week. we also have another tropical depression that is spreading heavy rain across much of the indo-china peninsula as well as south coast of china. so the risks of flooding and landslides will remain high here. as for china, central and southern parts are experiencing moderate rain. the rain will spread to the southern parts of the korean peninsula as well as western japan by friday. and as for northeastern china you may see scattered thunderstorms on thursday. as for temperatures, we're expecting 23 degrees in tokyo and 22 in seoul. it's going to be very chilly in ulan bator with only 5 degrees. as for the americas we've got a tropical depressions across southern mexico. those are bringing heavy rain across much of the central parts of the americas. lots of heavy rain are going to affect across this area for the next several days. as for north america, it's very wet across the western portions. we've got a couple low pressure syst

it's set to make landfall tomorrow in eastern luzon, in the afternoon. and then just to move right across and following almost exactly the same path as the last storm did. maybe making landfall here in hainan. maybe in central vietnam. early on the beginning of next week. currently the wind gusts are 234 kilometers per hour. so this is a very intense system. damaging winds and also a lot of rain that's going to be falling on already-saturated, already-flooded land. so it doesn't look good, unfortunately. we'll really be keeping an eye on this through the weekend. japan seeing a bit of a wet and windy day today. that's going to be clearing up on saturday. maybe precipitation up towards the north. it's getting cooler here, so that could be falling as snow. you see the green starting to inch through northern parts of hokkaido. and parts of northern tohoku as well. 11 degrees in ulan bator. tokyo looking at 24. in the tropics, we'll be staying in the 30s. as we head into north america, we have ophelia, another storm here this one a hurricane to deal with, a

now in the philippines, as you can see, amounts of rainfall to come in luzon in northern philippines. the area where those previous consecutive storms had hit. and the flooding situation, not alleviated yet. but unfortunately there's another tropical low developed just over the pacific, which is on its way towards the area that where the land is already saturated. and so flooding, landslides, mudslides, these are all going to be at risk in much of these areas that have i mentioned earlier. now we have another low pressure system. this front is going to be developed on wednesday. so southwestern islands of japan and northern tie juan is going to be looking at very heavy rain to come. more than 400 millimeters have been reported in okinawa. it's going to be continuing for just a little while longer and that's going to be moving towards western and central parts of japan. so some isolated thunderstorms may be popping up in the next 24. it's going to be a very chilly and wet day for us in tokyo. meanwhile, korean peninsula looking very dry and china, much of the area is going to be dry as
