lydia campbell, bbc news.at our website — that's bbc.com/sport. from me and the rest of the team at the bbc sport centre, goodbye. hello there. high pressure is continuing to bring a lot of dry, settled, sunny weather throughout the day for most areas on thursday, but like the last few days, we've got a keen easterly wind out there. that's taking the edge off. the temperatures will be noticeably chilly along north sea coasts and there will be some rain at times and more cloud across south—east england courtesy of this weather front, which will move in off the near continent. you'll notice there's a slight blue hue to the air mass, indicating that the air is quite chilly as well. so when you factor in the strong wind and slightly cooler air, then it will be a little bit fresher across the board. however, most places starting off dry, widespread sunshine and much of the country will stay dry and sunny all day. but then we'll see that area of cloud and some splashes of rain pushing into east anglia in the south—e

lydia campbell, bbc news. you next time. hello there. our weather story for friday is a tale of two halves, the best of the weather once again through scotland and northern ireland, closest to this area of high pressure. these weather fronts will introduce some cloud and rain at times, be a bit of a nuisance, and that nagging easterly wind still making it feel rather raw on exposed east coasts. so first thing in the morning, the rain quite heavy across norfolk, lincolnshire, into the east midlands, gradually drifting towards wales. there'll also be some showery outbreaks of rain across essex and kent. but north of that, not a bad start. it will be a chilly start. a touch of frost not out of the question across the grampian, but at least in scotland and northern ireland, you will have some sunshine and it will continue like that for much of the day. that easterly breeze, though, always making it feel cooler on exposed east coasts. sheltered western areas seeing the best of the sunshine and warmth. and as we go

lydia campbell, bbc news. wishing everybody taking part the best of luck this weekend. throughout the evening. goodbye. hello there. hello, today is not quite as warm across wales as it was yesterday. we have seen more cloud coming in here. scotland has been faring nicely, particularly across western scotland and this is where we will see the highest temperatures once again. we have high pressure dominating our weather, centred to the north—east of the uk and this weather front is taking some showers away from the south—west of england but we are left with this easterly wind which is quite strong and gusty and it will make it feel chilly, especially if you haven't got the sunshine. cooler around some eastern coastal areas of the uk with the wind off the north sea, higher temperatures around the western coast but more cloud to end the afternoon across wales, the south—west and northern ireland. that will get pushed away, a bit of upslope cloud coming into the pennines, the welsh hills. otherwise clear skies, the winds will drop a bit as well. it will be chilly overnight.
