i work for uber and lyft since 2015. i started working with company, and i live in san francisco, so it was a great take. we were going to the airport for $50, but now, after seven years working, with just make $17 going to the airport. it changed from $1.95 to 60 cents per mile. i spent working with uber and lyft -- i bought three cars because this is the only thing i can do. the only thing i get is diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. we are fighting for our rights. now we are with gig workers, and we are fighting for our rights. they give drivers false information. they give us messages through the e-mails saying it is about our flexibility, which we know ab5 is not about flexibility. it is about our rights. this city -- uber and lyft starts here and they have their headquarters here. it is a shame to have all of these drivers suffering, with families, in the most expensive city in the world. we trust you and we know you're going to do the right thing. thank you so much. >> chairman: thank you. next sp

these new e-bikes are part of lyft's expansion here in the city.ued a permit recently by the sfmta, which allows them to have these bikes here in san francisco. starting today. we understand that the sfmta are in a legal battle here, following a court proceeding recently. they have been given a court order to allow lyft to operate here. again, this is a temporary thing. we understand, they are following the court order to do so. it temporarily lefts lyft operate these e-bikes while they negotiate about a future planned expansion. these are lyft's e-bikes. they have a feature where they have a pedal assist. you can go up hills easier. this is all different from the company's traditional go bikes. those are pedal only bikes. a lot of riders looking forward to this expansion. >> san francisco is full of hills, as i'm sure you know. it's one of the challenges with the old, unmotorrized versions. trying to get these heavy bikes up a hill was a challenge. i'm looking forward to this. >> these bikes are already showing up in san jose, in oakland, and lyft

so how do uber and lyft drivers fit into our workforce? most of the speakers before me touched a lot on what i had prepared as well, but i'm going to try to go over it again. uber and lyft drivers make up approximately 1% of the u.s. workforce. here in san francisco, it is estimated there were 45,000 drivers in 2017, with an estimated 6,000 on the road during peak hours. uber and lift are quick to point out that the majority of their drivers are part-time. but as some of the previous speakers mentioned, half of drivers work full-time hours, and for one out of two drivers, this is their only job. it is also important to highlight that full-time drivers are providing close to 50% of rides requested through the app. with the continued rate decreases for drivers, full-time has gone from a 40-hour work week to 70 to 80 hours to survive. so mo who makes up the gig workers? among those who say income from gig platforms are essential, 64% are people of color, 57% have household incomes under $30,000. 51252% have a high school degree or less, and 4

executive shakeup at lyft.hief operations officer jon mcneill is leaving after joining last year from tesla. he served as president of global sales and service at tesla. the lyft founders say they won't hire a replacement. why is he leaving? mark: that is a very good question that we don't quite have the answer to yet. it is an intriguing situation. he didn't even last two years. he was in one of the most high-profile positions at the company. this is also a situation where you are a very experienced executive coming in with a mandate to oversee operations but you also have two founders of the company and you have ideas of how the company should be operating. we note in the story that his predecessor and coo, came from amazon, didn't last three years. there are questions about whether they could sustain somebody in that role. it may be telling that they don't plan to hire another coo. emily: lyft shares are down. what is the plan? mark: they will have to outline that. they probably won't have profit but they wi

taylor: is uber eats the single, or most single factor that differentiates uber from lyft?oduct mix-wise, yes, certainly. geographic mix, sort of on the north american market. the other big differentiator is what is happening in autonomous vehicles. uber is making much heavier investment in autonomous. you can argue that is a good thing, it puts uber and better control of its own destiny when it comes to autonomous driving systems where lyft would have to be reliant on other partnerships to power that. those are the three main differentiators. taylor: with a neutral rating, what is the biggest headwind? tom: i think right now, investors are struggling with visibility. this is a company that really has not given much in the way of forward guidance. over the next 12 months. they have given long-term targets on their ipo roadshow, which i don't think many investors are giving them much benefit of the doubt for at the moment. but, with all the competitive battles it is fighting on many different fronts in many different parts of its business, it is tough to get comfortable with
