we will start off with lynette charles who has been very busy this morning because there's nasty fog out there. >> yes. we have a dense fog advisory that's in effect until 9 this morning. and we have a little change in the forecast. so before we had it for the entire viewing area. caroline county is not under it as well as talbot so that's good news and queen anns is not under it. but because it's not dense doesn't mean there's no fog out there. so you are going to be dealing with fog this morning. so that means that nothing changed. you need to take it easy heading out and about this morning. maryland's most powerful radar is dry right now. we still probably have some drizzle out there. and you hear me say probably because the radar doesn't pick up on drizzle because the droplets are too small. so don't be surprised if you step out and about and there is some misting and drizzle across the area. but what i can tell you is that these temperatures are not cold this morning. they are well above average coming in at 44 degrees right now in churchville. and a late 48. close to 50. these

with me those hour, lynette and david. get a government loan to go back to school? >> this is a big question because through the government it's more affordable than private student loans but people are worried about accessing that money. >> right. this is i good time to start thinking about it. january 1st kicks off fafsa season. if you want a loan or grant or scholarship of any kind for college you must fill out fafsa. don't wait until april 15th. you can estimate your income figures, you want to do it immediately. but there are loans out there. there's the federal stafford loan one of most commonly granted loans for people who want to go back to college. depending on her north carolina income she might qualify for a pell grant. >> that could change but it's important you do this as early as possible. also may be programs through the school that may be available, work study programs, apprenticeship programs and they're on a first come, first served basis. the earlier you get the application in, the better. >> do the leg

with me this hour lynette and david.. >> i'm the guardian of a relative, and he has special needs, and i want to make sure that when i'm gone, that my assets will be used to take care of him. >> what advice do you have for her? >> one piece of advice is do not give the assets directly to him. what you want to do is set up what's known as a special needs trust. this trust can be used for the benefit of the special needs individual. you'll need to speak with an attorney who specializes in that and set up the trust. if you don't do it that way, what will happen is that if the individual is eligible for government benefits and the money is directly to them, they may not be able to get those benefits. it's important you set that up in the trust. the trustee can then determine the amounts that can be provided for their benefit. >> as well as just a basic estate planning move if they can't afford to set up the trust right now, at least make sure you have a will and sort of outline in your will what you want done with your asset
