and since you are an m.t.c. commissioner i think you are certainly aware that the legislature, the governor signs the bill, just gave m.t.c. an authority to put housing measures on a regional ballot at some point in the future and i do wonder how that initiative and this initiative will play off each other and whether or not they could possibly come together. i think as subject matter, they belong together. as a political matter, that may be somewhat of a challenge because we are asking people to bite off two big subjects at once instead of one. but whatever goes first puts the oat in a secondary position if they don't go together, and i worry about that. housing seems to be left at the altar every time. that's one subject. the second one like peter, i wanted to talk about transformation. and the project i've heard most associated is the initiative of the transbay 2, between the west and the east bay, and that would transform things in lots of different ways. but how many people with actually ride it will depend

piloting a discounted day pass, which is something that we haven't had before, but we are working with m.t.c. to try and set up. that is in part response to feedback that we have heard about our current clipper fair, which has a reduced fare for people who use clipper that has a higher cash fair. in 2014, our board past the equity policy which made us the very first agency in the nation to blend the equity needs with the budget process. as part of that policy, the board sit out the expectation that a series of routes that we identify with social justice advocates perform as well or better than our average, and then as we identify performance improvements, particularly around service and capacity, we have concentrated those on routes that really serve as means of concern. we recently received an award for a community outreach process that we did on the 27 bryant, which was identified in our equity strategy is having very poor reliability, particularly as it went through the tenderloin and the south of market neighborhood. we are pleased to have recently implementing those changes. as we prepa

we've been doing advanced planning work with m.t.c., supporting that work through the horizon effort. however, plan barry has officially kicked off, as the portion of the process that will really contemplate the land use distribution, as well as the transportation investments to support future growth. the agency's around the region will be seeking feedback together through a series of pop-up events, including here in san francisco, which we'll be publishing on the web site and getting the word out on social media. our role is to coordinate san francisco's input and to plan bay area, building off the local priorities that had been established in prior plans. and continuing through our connect assess effort. so we'll be probably bringing more updates to you through the winter and, anticipating approval of a fiscally constrained transportation investment package early next year. as chair mentioned, transit center in downtown extension work continues. resumption of the a.c. transit bus continued in august. and once again being enjoyed by the public. so we are also glad to report our previ
