the university of maryland and i had my students come in and they said you know, i want to go to macedonia and i want to work with people with special needs and i know what? the peace corps didn't contact me and say if it was okay to dothis. peace corps decides what you're going to do . i discovered that it is a wonderful way to bring people into peace corps for them to think about the commitment they're making, particularly in the technical area in which they want to serve. they're also very good about saying it doesn't work out here, you have children with special needs or i'll do something else so if we were able to juggle that quite nicely, the important part is that you find out, you can fill out the application, some people takes say it takes about an hour which is 85 pages so it's about an hour and you can hear within about two months of whether this is working out and it changes the whole nature. it's how peace corps has changed and as you know, most of you have amazon prime and you do your order and you watch that little box as it goes on airplane. people are expecting one, for th
