alina machado is live. what have we learned about this? >> well, good morning, john.arned that investigators say they found ricin at the former martial arts studio belonging to james everett dutschke. but the document does not say much about a possible motive in this case. we now know what led federal prosecutors to charge james everett dutschke in the ricin letters investigation. in an eight-page affidavit fbi agents say their surveillance team saw dutschke remove items from the former martial arts studio he owned in tupelo and dump them in a public trash bin. one of those items a dust mask tested positive for ricin. ricin was also later found inside the martial arts studio in sink drains and on the floor. the investigators say dutschke ordered 100 castor bean seeds late last year through ebay. they're used in the production of ricin which can be deadly and has no known antidote. dutschke denied to investigators he purchased the beans. the fbi found publications on how to safely handle ricin, and how to detect it, on his computer. also agents say they spoke with a wi

alina machado is on the ground there in granbury.on the ground right now? >> reporter: chris thshgs is going to be a very long recovery effort for these people. we've seen a lot of destruction in this area, and we've also seen a great sense of community among the people of granbury, texas. there have been dozens of volunteers out here all day picking up debris, putting them in neat piles for people who were affected by this storm, and this is kind of an example i want to show you over here of what they've been dealing with. this used to be a mobile home. we're told, thankfully, nobody was inside when the tornado hit. now, the area that we're in is about a mile from the hardest hit area, which is a subdivision called rancho vasos. we were able to look at the damage there. this is the place where six people died, six people lost their lives here. it's also where search and rescue crews have been focusing their efforts all day trying to find victims of this disaster. there are still seven people who are missing. now, we have heard from

and i want to bring in elina machado for more on this investigation.s the blast being investigated as a possible crime? >> that's a question we have been asking all afternoon. but so far authorities remain tight lipped. the launch of this criminal probe was announced a few hours ago. earlier this week investigators said they had ruled out four potential causes including weather and natural causes. now, it has been more than three weeks since the explosion rocked west, texas, killing more than a dozen people. a fire broke out at the plant about 20 minutes before the blast and most of the people who died were first responders who had rushed to the scene because of that fire. now, we want to share with you a statement we got from the director of the texas department of public safety. it says in part, this disaster has severely impacted the community of west. and we want to ensure that no stone goes unturned and that all the facts related to this incident are uncovered. brooke? >> so, alina, we have learned that a volunteer first responder was arrested in
