tom mackenzie: it is a very long to do list he will be sworn in this evening.vernment will be sworn in tomorrow morning, and they need to hit the ground running because there are a number of deadlines. not least, the review of the country's creditors. the creditors signed out on this demo. there are a number of reforms. there are 220 actions, approximately, that they need to take. reform,g labor market pensions, taxes. a tightrope walk for alexis as he tries to make sure that creditors remain happy with the targets they have to hit. michael: he has only a five-seat majority in parliament. how difficult will it be to implement all these reforms? he has to do pretty much all of them or the troika is not going to be happy. tom mackenzie: absolutely. tohas managed for them specifically set up their own party. basew has a stronger around him, and he has is in the creek -- he has his independent greek nationalists. if there is too much public pressure, that could start to shake and crumble. but they know that the creditors will not give them too much room to wiggle o

guy: tom mackenzie joining us from athens. headng back in the of strategy. .arkets don't seem to care are they making the right call? >> there is a firm expectation that the outcome of the election will be a workable government that will support the package that has come in. systemicof is this a risk for the eurozone the way it used to be, and indeed for the greek economy, i think the markets are assuming that is not the case. guy: let's talk about the wider european story. how did on markets open this morning? lawrence: we are going to follow the u.s. to some extent. the fact that the u.s. market theged to move so far after fed decision shows there were priced in.ikes we can learn from yellen, what is it she told us about the world economy and u.s. economy? inflation is not doing what it is supposed to do. a littles been disappointing. the international situation has been disappointing. a lot of that is true for europe. drug isyou think disappointed or elated? if you would like the to keep a bit more pace than it might have h

tom mackenzie joins us now, live from athens.le said this was too close to call, but tsipras once again surprised the pollsters and delivered a decent mandate considering what has gone before. tom: absolutely. he was right in the firing line. you could argue that he put himself on the firing line by turning around after the referendum in signing up to the bailout, but yes, a strong mandate. an indication of that from a local newspaper, "the era of tsipras." he has really ingrained himself now in political discourse, after winning in january, winning the referendum, and winning again last night. the next few hours and days, this is what he will be doing -- he will be meeting the president of the hellenic republic, given three days to form a government. tomorrow, he is expected to be signed in as prime minister. it involves implementing many of his bailout conditions. some carrots are dangled at the end of this -- 6 billion euros could be pumped into greece if these reforms are pushed through. but before that can happen the ecb is

and there's a lot of people who would like do the work and we're told by the -- there is a mackenzie consulting firm, national consulting firm, they have an arm of their entity called global institute. the global institute of mackenzie and company, they looked at what we could do for our growing g.d.p. in this country if we fully funded six-year transportation plan. what could we do for employment opportunities if we fully funded a six-year transportation plan? the numbers are remarkable, i think amazing. we're told that fully funding a six-year transportation plan would grow g.d.p. by something like 1.5% per year, not for one year but for the life of the transportation plan, that we'd fund, probably six years, at 1 mo-- at 1.5% per year. adding 1.5% to g.d.p. growth would actually make our economy grow in a robust way, not in a modest way but in a truly robust way. and we're told by mackenzie and company's study that a six-year transportation plan, robustly funded, would put about 1.8 million people to work. 1.8 million. a lot of folks that would like to be building roads, bridges,

tom mackenzie joins us from barcelona. thee does this leave independence campaign? isn't the victory the independence campaign wanted, quite frankly. they did get a majority in congress thanks to this partnership with the anticapitalist party that is going to cause some difficulties in negotiations going ahead. they did get a majority in the popular vote. they know the popular party in madrid and the socialist party are both going to use that to push back against the independence campaign. it's difficult now as we look to the future. they don't want to work with him. they've got very little in similarity politically. the only thing they have is their preference for an independent catalonia. there's going to be some difficult negotiations going ahead in barcelona. then, of course those negotiations once the government is formed moved to madrid and possibly brussels. heard that this is not a clear mandate and the popular party of the prime minister are going to come out and say the same thing. all focus now on december, the elections, and what's likely to be a shaken
