, if you look at macy's quarter that they just announced, macy's online sales run over 42% quarter over quarter. there's a massive amount of shift going on from walking into stores to ordering online, and that's playing right up into fedex's wheelhouse, so we think fedex takes out 100 here and keeps going. >> they get more volume but the online retailers squeezed them. >> they do, they absolutely squeezed them. if you look at the way fedex has handled this in the past, what would be a bad environment for them is oil rallying up 105, 110 and getting squeezed. that's where their margins could get compressed. they are kind of in a perfect storm with oil coming down, and really where it finds support is a tough call here, but it looks like for the next quarter or two quarters fedex should really in a sweet spot. >> this is one of the better ideas i've heard in a while. >> what happened to all of the other ideas? nobody take offense. >> as you were saying. >> i mean, you learn a lot about stocks in the soup. today you're in the soup. you're down 100 points in the morning, and the first stock

when the transition came to macy's and macy's withdrew the coupons from the may customer they had threers of down comps. terry lund was a really smart guy. he still had those issues when he made that change. yes, it's worked now. they've got the customer train aid way. but they're still doing promotions at macy's. they're still benefits that customer with some kind of couponing. they still took a really hard hit when they made that dhachan. even though it wasn't a really big change. >> you're saying when bill ackman on our air this morning said this was the worst of the comp store sales declines, you don't agree with him? >> i don't think it's possible that they don't see more damage in the fourth quarter on the topline than what they saw in the first quarter -- >> they're not giving topline guidance. they're not talking at all about topline. they'll only talk about the nongap guidance. which, again, i come back to and that does concern me. >> yeah. i think they made promises they can't keep. they've talked about doing a lot of things that seem very difficult. they've talked about putti

i was looking at macy's and jdwn. when you look at the american eagle, which i talked about, to exhausting the point where it's moved from $14 basically to $20 and probably on its way to the mid-20s. do you see a difference moving away from the department stores and into shops like american eagle? >> not when we see the top line numbers that we continue to see here. macy's had a bit of a slowdown in april more related to easter shifting into march. easter shopping shifting into march. mother's day shifting into may. but we are still seeing very good top line numbers from the ones executing like nordstrom and macy's. >> i want to hit on a couple stocks. rapid fire, nike, buy, sell, hold? >> buy. nike has a great global growth outlook going on right now with a lot of new businesses coming online. the london olympics, it is good for sporting goods, and they just took over the nfl license for all the apparel there, sounding very good. >> jcp, ron has a big job ahead of him. >> it will probably will several years before we

look at macy's. shares already shaking off earlier losses trading instead on fundamentals of that company. and kohl's actually up 1.5%. the average analyst price target is about 11% above where we're currently trading right now, 51.46. >> courtney, thank you. shares of herbalife down. another 8.5%. but the knew tragsal supplement maker is trying to stop the bleeding repurchasing 427 million of its shares. now, two days ago as you probably recall, the stock got totally whacked after the short seller, david einhorn, questioned the company's disclosure policy and where the sales were actually being logged. after a solid run up to $73 a share, the stock is down more than 8% over the past -- or this year and about 5.5% over the one-year period. let's go to jeff kilburg now who has been following this story. the company came out with some statements today, did they stop the bleeding? what would you do if you owned the stock? do you see this as a chance to buy it cheap? >> well, ty, kudos to herb greenberg.

everybody likes to ask about cliniq u e if you go into a macies, you'll see the lab white coats and scientifically presented. it is the same set of chemicals packaged with a different marketing program. disturbing some of the women of color are among the most toxic. women are bombarded with light skinned looking models. every product claims to have a whitening benefit. here is an example of one of the ads that you'll see in china, procter and gamble, high end line sk 2, hugely poplar, this product was the cause of near riots in china in 2006 after the government reported it contained, band heavy metal. hundreds of women demanding refunds lined up down the block. here is an example of them busting down the headquarters in shanghai. women do not want toxic bad metals. in their $100 skin cream. unfortunately, the government and procter and gamble was freaked out about this. then it was announceable, just a little bit of toxic metals, don't worry. they put the products back on the shelf and back on the market. china is the no. 1 growth market for procter and gamble. have quotes where she says china is

if you are downtown in an office building or shopping at macy's, do you run in the middle of the street? no. you stay where you are. how much time do you have? seconds. you have to make a decision within seconds. if you run to the street what will happen? >> get hit by a car. you have windows, glass to fall on you. high rise. if you know where you are, stay there than to go somewhere you don't know what's there. once it's shaking between 30 seconds to a minute and once it's over, things will fall and tip over. give it time to move around. of course, if there is danger coming to you, you want to move. so, picture these buildings. against the wall. will i go behind this wall? lean against it, cover my head? no. the pictures fres. if they come off and hit me on the top of the head, more injuries. be aware of that target. look behind you before you lean against the wall. sometimes wrong place at the wrong time there is no way to get down this way. try to find a [inaudible] place if you can. get next to something that's sturdy that will block up against you. how much time do you have? short.

but there is a larger concern given what target and macy's said today. maybe the mid-tier consumer is having some problems, even though some of the comps of the nordstrom's of the world at the high end are doing pretty well. >> it was the smallest same-store numbers for costco in 32 months. it got downgraded to a hold from a buy at deutsche bank last week. erns about the price cuts the company initiated last spring lasting longer than expected and especially in canada where the company is going to have to go head to head against target. are they going to keep the cost cuts in place? sit going to further contract margins in that area of the world? >> at the sears shareholder meeting yesterday, a lot of talk that costco has been stealing share from sears, especially in electronics, right, and televisions, which we all know is a hypercompetitive market space. and the other thing, easter -- april had it last year. this year did not. it's extremely difficult with such a big weekend like that to compare year over year. >> the other one that's worth watching is
