madame clerk. i have a letter of inquiry to the city attorney's office. some of you might have heard the news over the weekend that the state attorney general's office has declined to pursue criminal prosecution charges against a former city employee, the criminologist who is accused of a variety of things. the letter of inquiry i have on this issue is to the city attorney's office. we might add able to pursue criminal charges but as a result of actions, the public defender's office, the district attorney's office, the police department, have incurred a substantial level of cost. can we pursue in court any costs from her, particularly when you consider the taxpayers will be paying her a pension more than $60,000 a year? to me, this is unconscionable that the taxpayers and the general fund could be suffering as a result the pension costs to support someone who has cost the city millions of dollars. if we cannot pursue criminal action, can we pursue civil action? this is a letter of inquiry to the city attorney as to whether or not that is an action. >> tha
