"the boston globe" reporting that the senator and his staff have refused to meet with elizabeth warren or her campaign to discuss debate invitations or dates or terms for debating. this week, though, scott brown says he would agree to a televised debate with elizabeth warren, but

if fact, if you tuned into the "rachel maddow show" eight months ago you could have heard me say it here if europe doesn't get its act together we're likely to have a global recession next year and going to make it very hard for barack obama to get re-elected. good point, past ezra. that's one very important caveat that handsome fellow didn't emphasize as much as he could have. that is this. europe will decide the american election if and only if we let it. if we fail. if we have done a bad job. by we i mean economic policymakers of which i'm actually not one. what an economic policymaker does for a living is make sure when something bad happens on the other side of the world it doesn't crash our economy. that is their jump. we don't knee economic policymakers when things are going great. you need them when things are not going great. right now there are things we can do. europe is a bump in the road. a big bump. a mountain in the road. but it is a bump. policymakers have shock absorbers. in congress they can pass targeted tax cuts, hire more teachers and firefighters and police officers

steve bennett of maddow blog put these charts together. they're very easy to see. this is the nation's gross domestic product before and after the stimulus, okay? the red is for the bush years, the blue is for the obama years. look at what happened when the stimulus kicked in. same thing with private sector job growth. the stimulus starts, jobs, what do they do? they start to come back. and wall street has done, i think, pretty well since the stimulus. mitt romney can say president obama has no jobs plan, but it's obvious the president's plans when he got some cooperation worked. what are we against? why are we against success in this country? well, it's all about politics. it's also obvious republicans want to prevent the president from having any plan work right now. hell, it's june. we've got an election coming up. we can stall this thing until november. it is more important to beat him than it is to help the country. now, let's take a real close look at this. you wall streeters, you know, look, where are the numbers? well, let's see. this is the one i like. thi
