. >> cbs's magdalena doris joins us live with a look at that new video. >> reporter: good morning jenel and andrea. when you see this video, you will agree the passengers inside this van are so lucky it wasn't so much worse. police say that the driver of a stolen rental car sped through this stop sign and ar careened into a van that was was carrying children. the impact was strong enough to flip the van carrying six passengers, including a three- year-old and a three-month-old. the collision at the intersection of shore avenue and princeton street happened before 11 p.m. a car hit the van with such force it flipped. after the crash the investigators say the driver despite the dramatic jarring collision, miraculously the two small children, a 15-year-old girl and three young adults riding in the van are okay. they were taken to jamaica hospital as a precaution. now, police are still searching from this crash. so far they have not released any details about who they are looking for. as of yet. magdalena doris, cbs2 news. >>> police in new jersey have made an arrest in connection with the

. >> magdalena doris is live on the upper east side with more. >> reporter: good morning. two damaged cars have been removed from 76th after the victim who was stabbed multiple times in that attack tried to make his way to the hospital. he ultimately crashed here. >> police are not sure where this road rage incident started or why the two drivers involved clashed. but they do know where it ended. the scene is sprawled out on east 76th 76th and madison avenue. it is where the 45-year-old driver of a toyota crashed into a parked car. investigators say the driver was trying to get himself to the hospital after being stabbed six or seven times in a driving dispute. according to the nypd, just after 11:00 p.m., a man driving a blue ford with rhode island license plates got into a fight with the driver of the toyota on east 61st near york avenue. being stabbed. the suspect driving off. ultimately, the crash on 76th street. >> police say the victim is in stable condition at cornell medical center. they are still searching for the driver of the blue ford. live on the upper east si

. >> magdalena doris is live from the scene with more. >> reporter: good morning brian and andrea. as you can see, pscng crews are here right now trying to replace an electrical pole that went down as part of this crash. police say this happened around 3:30 in the morning. a car veered off the road here and crashed into that electrical pole and eventually caught on fire when it brought down live power lines with it. again, four people were inside that vehicle. they were pulled to local hospitals. we are not sure of their condition at this time. there's no word on why this driver veered off the road and into the woods. this stretch of color road is known by neighbors who tell me this racing. they haven't seen any not sure why this happened. this stretch of color road is an industrial area as well. police are working to figure out if speed or alcohol was a factor in this accident. again, as you can see back here live crews are working to get those power lines reestablished here. some crash investigators were here earlier this morning collecting evidence as well trying to get more inf

magdalena doris reports from suffolk county. >> they are illegal to possess in new york state. >> reporter: the chief of the suffolk spca laid down the law today after detectives seized this 6-foot-long al gater from a residential home in medicine medford. the largest they have ever seen. >> sure enough, in the backyard, there's a 6-foot al gater in the backyard in a fenced in area and a lot of alligator could climb. >> reporter: he says the homeowner isn't unidentified but is charged with illegal possession of an alligator. the chief says since 2003 detectives have seized or recovered more than 400 reptiles, alligators, snakes and snapping turtles bought online or brought in from other states where they are legal. they have been found abandoned including a small alligator recently placed in a tupperware container left in a public restroom. >> could you imagine a child opening that container, what could have happened? >> reporter: he says his detectives are investigating reports of at least a dozen more alligators suspected of being held in residences in suffolk county. animal activists co

cbs 2's magdalena doris joins corona. hazel and andrea. yes. police say this was an attempted robbery turned violent. the cab driver was slashed multiple times in the back and in the neck while he was fighting off this attacker. now, police say the cab driver picked up an illegal street hail early this morning, and they say that passenger eventually stopping here, the cab, i should say, stopping here at van cleef street. that passenger then demanding money from the 43-year-old livery cab driver. during that struggle, the cab driver was slashed, again, in the back and the neck and nothing was taken. the passenger ran away emptyhanded according to police. they are still looking for that suspect. now, this is the second slashing case overnight. in the bronx a man was slashed in the arm during a fight. in this case the livery cab driver was taken to elmhurst hospital. he is expected to be okay. but, again, police are still searching for the passenger. that person they say slashed and tried to rob this livery cab driver. live in corona, queens, magd
