it was a magnitude 7.0. we haven't had anything major since then, but we do pay attention to these minor earthquakes as definitely a reminder to be prepared and it could be a forethought to a larger event. you want to take cover and hold once you feel shaking and get under sturdy furniture, a table or a desk. after the quake you make sure that your family has a meeting place and also if you are indoors you do not want to get near those windows, you want to stay away from those outside doors and walls. all of this is a really good reminder even though we haven't had any major damage or reports of any injuries, good reminder of what to do in case something else does start to move as we go into the next couple of hours. do not use a doorway unless it's strongly supported and do not try to run outside, even though you may be frightened by the shaking, it's not a good idea to try to get outside. we've also had a 2.6 magnitude earthquake in the south bay near cupertino. so more people are on twitter this morning s
