of 1 world trade center now stands at 1,271 feet high, 21 feet taller than the empire state building. >> it's inspirational and it's going to make a lot of people happy. >> reporter: it took a while after september 11th for construction to get started, but eventually at a rate of a new floor every week the tower started to alter manhattan's skyline. locals and tourists marveled at the structure. the milestone comes close to the one year anniversary of the death of osama bin laden. >> you're not going to stop america. we're going to rebuild and keep going. >> it sends chills up and down your spine when you think about what happened. >> reporter: from here on the 71st floor of the building you get a real sense just how massive this structure is and how tall it is. take a look at this panoramic view of all of new york. something that's noticeably different from the original twin towers is that the building is all glass, windows, floor to ceiling all the way around. the tower is one of several buildings under construction at the site which is also home to the national september 11th memorial and museum. >> it's been an act of passion and an act of patriotic duty. >> reporter: the there and snatch the hands off that clock. now the university is calling this a serious offense, but students say come on, it's just prang and it's one that date back to the '-- prank and it's one that dates back to the '60s. >> it's a big offense to do it. >> it's a big tradition and i think everyone tries to do it by their senior year. >> the last time the hands vanished, 2005 and the two students who took them posed with them on facebook. the school gave them one year of probation and beefed up clock tower security. obviously it was not quite beefy enough. >>> they worship jack daniels, saturday night and jesus on sunday morning, welcome to the drunk monkey tavern. it's an oklahoma bar that now live streams church services on sundays. it was all the bar owner's idea. approached a pastor in tulsa who said hey, why not and bar patrons say hey, this actually make perfect sense for all sorts of reasons. >> some people don't have their sunday best. they just have what they have. so they get a chance to come here and don't get judged and get a chance to worship. >> i can understand if people are a little skeptical at a thought of the place called the drunk monkey being a place where you would find the gospel and yet god is just as alive here as he is anywhere. >> you know, if you can't find a sinner to save in a bar, you are just not trying very hard. >> let's be real about that weather forecast, sir. >> all right. a little cool today, a little below average, but tomorrow we'll be right back in the 80- degree range. >> that's where i like it. >> we are looking at a warm front going to roll through tomorrow and it will give us a chance for a shower or thunderstorm. let's start with a live look outside. it's our live weather cam brought to you by michael and son. we have clouds, still dry. 65 degrees. the winds out of the southeast at 10 and it probably bears mentioning if the winds have an easterly component, it will stay cooler than it should this time of year. pressure steady in the past hour at 30.16-inch of mercury. satellite and radar picture combined, pretty big thunderstorms through indiana, back into western kentucky, tennessee and little rock. this is the cold front. the warm front is west of us and that will roll through tomorrow. we are looking at the warm sector of air, but once this goes through, all right, we'll be warm, yes, but it will increase our chance for showers and thunderstorms. not going to shower everywhere tomorrow, but if you're not a betting person, bring your umbrella. 64 now in rockville, but 61 in gaithersburg, 64 great falls and springfield. with clouds and a southeast wind, pretty good equalizer. 62 in beltsville, 64 in college park. it sill be with warming up, no doubt -- it will be warming up, no doubt, mild tonight, maybe a shower but not until after midnight. warmer tomorrow, a shower or thunderstorm is possible and mild, not quite as warm wednesday and thursday. the front will slip back to the south of us for a short time. for tonight mostly cloudy, mild, shower possible after midnight, lows in the 50s and notice the wind southeast at 10 to 15. now tomorrow when the warm front goes through look at the winds now, southwest 10 to 15 becoming partly sunny, may take a while, be some low clouds tomorrow morning and a shower or thunderstorm possible with temps in the 50s and 60s and by afternoon we're in the warm sector, partly sunny, warmer, but share or thunderstorm possible, high temps around 80. that's about 10 degrees above average and winds will turn northwesterly at 10 late in the afternoon. so let's break it down. 50s to start, maybe a sprinkle especially north of town and then 73 to 78 by noon, shower or thunderstorm possible and by evening yes, a shower or thunderstorm possible, 77 to 81. so an umbrella a good idea. next three days we're 80 tomorrow. then we go back to 78 wednesday. we can handle that, maybe a shower, 75 thursday, a few more clouds and a couple showers. we can handle that as well because the flow goes easterly for a time again, but then the next seven days, the warm front goes back north. look what happens. we're 84 degrees friday, fantastic day, low 80s on saturday. now the cold front gets through here. that will generate a couple showers and storms and lower temps a little bit, 74 sunday. that's doable and then 70 on monday with sunshine. >> i love it. >> i know you do. we'll be back. >> we want to hear what you think. send your e-mails to mcginty's mailbag, the address mailbag at wusa9.com. 9 news now will
