are you getting a lot of feedback from those mailers? first question, how many mailers is that? >> we calculated this line item based on the business registration that we had estimated, for this year, i believe it was 90,000 businesses since i have been at osb we have not done a mailer yet. i know it has been -- there have been instances through clients that we have had that are the cases that come through ada complaints where we have wanted to be able to set aside a certain amount of funds to send reminders to businesses. they may not capture all of the businesses. but with the specific ones, for example, auto body shops and car repair where we have seen an increase in lawsuits to those businesses and typically with more underserved businesses, at times, a paper form or a paper letter is more compelling and actually gets to them then an online reminder. we are open, again, to consideration of adjusting the budget if need be. this is an item that we just added to a spending plan but now that we know the amount of funds that we have had, we can sort of revisit this after we've go

this was a district 6 mailer, and the video at the bottom of an internet mailer ad, paid for by a committee, clean and sunset. major funding by progress san francisco. and the district 6 version said paid for by san franciscans for change, major funding by progress san francisco. i think all of us in this room know who are behind that committee, but most regular people would have no reason to know. two big things. number one, it will require the dollar amount of the donors to be listed, so that voters get more than a name and an actual piece of data that they can use to say -- to ask if they wish, who's really behind this and what's their agenda. and more importantly, it pierces the shell of fake name committees like that by requiring that progress san francisco in this example, the top two donors to that committee would also have to be listed, and the amount of money they gave to that committee. in addition, the font will have to be bigger and some other cleanup things that make it easier for voters to know. again, we're trying to give voters information and ensuring they really know who's

it was originally done via mailer. now it is through the phone with web based option to allow a greater sample we had over 2200 surveys completed. when we look at the entire sample the ratings are weighted to act for major differences between the sample and the population of san francisco. we do try to minimize weighting. when we look at changes over the time we can see significance for differences between about 2% points. of course that needs to be larger for district level for 7 to 8% to see those significants. here we show the overall ratings and trends. main results in blue and grey is 2017. you can see government has remained b minus. it has been so since 2013. libraries and parks continue upward. transportation infrastructure had been on upward trend since early 2010. it peaked in 2017. you will see a half letter grade decline here. you will see 311 ratings increased half a letter. they didn't change significantly. that is a factor of distribution of people responds. with safety, the ratings did increase slightly
