megan mcgrath just arrived on the scene of a water main break. megan, what's happening where you are? >> reporter: aaron, you can see the water that is running down the road here. these are the westbound lanes of east-west highway. and all of those westbound lanes are shut down because of the water. you can see a little further up the street there, that's the problem. we have a water main break down there right smack in the center of the roadway. you can see the water is still gurg gurgling. they have not yet shut off the water, so they have had to close all of the west woundbound lanes. eastbound side, a clump of cars going through. eastbound lanes are okay. you will be able to travel east. but the detour headed west is between 43rd avenue and adelphi road. we have a couple of state highway crews, but we're not seeing any of the wssc crews. so the repair work has not yet started. it looks like they have one of those metal keys respect maybe that is a wssc employee they're trying to turn some valves off. but as for now, the water still flowing an
