this is kind of the main street through town. it would normally be pretty busy. as you can see, it's pretty much deserted because most people in town. as soon as they were told this flooding and a storm was going to hit, they left town and haven't come back yet. this is an area that is accustomed to flood emergencies. they've had several in the last decade, but every one here tells us this is the worst that they have ever seen. some climatology, this are pointing to climate change is being a key factor in, exacerbating this. and it's really having a lot of a cross border ramifications as well. the main train line, the freight train line that runs through the western united states up through western canada has been completely shut down as well. because the train a has derailed because of the storm run off water just simply went right over the railroad tracks and knocked over and derailed all of the trains. so this is an area where they're still trying to clean up, but it's going to take a quite a long time. that is gabriel alexander with an update on the flooding
