one mudslide shut down a part of the pacific coast highway and other roads near malibu in southern california. mud, water, and falling rocks ripped through barriers. there were mandatory evacuations and schools had to be shutdown. in burbank north of downtown los angeles, a southwest jet trying to land during a heavy down power skidded off a runway. it was stopped by soft sand-like material at the end of the runway designed to do just that. it ended up just a few feet from a fence and a busy highway. >> he started skidding and braking even more aggressively and then he braked. >> there was a point where the tail end of the plane started to drift to the right so it felt like it was loosening up a little bit and that's when people started to get worried. >> the passengers got out safely and there were no injuries reported. the incident is under investigation. >>> now to the latest on that disputed congressional race in north carolina where alleged voter fraud is a big issue. mccready withdrew his concession and says he lost because of fraud. he trails republican mark harris by 905 votes in nort
