i will say this is an unusual thing to say that for me, returning home in a literal and malik wade returning back to the community after seven years in d.c., my soulmate at that. it wasn't some do not fully and i'm so happy to be rooted in community again. one of the joys of being secretary of education seen hundreds and hundreds of schools in every state and do way more than everyone. i love that. you learn so much. the honest truth is there's a handful of schools i visited twice and you go someplace and you're gone. for me to go back to the same law day after day after day had been tied with kids and families of the young men i worked with, it did fantastic. >> why don't people of leadership understand that their leadership is fueled by the relationships they have on the ground? when i think about politicians that the federal level, the state-level college even at the local level who don't really spend time in their communities. not in their congressional office in their community, that touching people come in feeling people indeed informed by that. why don't we build relationships in ways
