it's cold here in manassas 43 degrees here in manassas. 40 in chantilly. silver spring and college park at 41 this morning. 49 downtown at old town alexandria. 44 degrees in wood bridge. so it is indeed a very chilly start this morning. temperatures hour by hour today. climbing out of the chilly 40s. up into the low and mid 60s as we head towards mid to early afternoon today. there will come with us daytime heating, a little chance for some rain today. best chance to be hit by a stray rain shower or two. and rain chances are at 30% or so. the best chance for that to happen is around 4:00 or 5:00 this afternoon. keep that in mind have the precaution sized umbrella ready to go. seven day forecast not a bad picture around here for the next couple of days. our april chill is showing signs of weakening just a touch. temperatures will be climbing back into the upper 60s and low 70s and turning noticeably warmer into the weekend. so there's something for everybody there. no more snowflakes after those saturday surprise snowflakes that caught everyone off guard. t

after the second battle of manassas, he decided to move south. he could not conduct business in northern virginia. he got into sugar speculation. he was not a farmer, as many people would point out. this area was convenient because he could access the south side railroad and make trips to the south to deal in sugar. he owned the house at the time of the surrender and in they are 1867 not able to keep up with the payments on the house in the house is sold and the family moves back to northern virginia. after the house is sold, the raglan family owns it for a time, but in the 1890's, a group of union veterans have a plan. they are going to start a retirement community for union soldiers here at appomattox soldiers here at appomattox courthouse and buy up land west of the village. they are unsuccessful selling off these lots to union veterans and decide they are going to dismantle the house in 1893 and move it to washington dc and create a civil war museum out of it. the house is dismantled. parts of the house are stacked up in the yard and there is

and 48 in manassas and much cooler back towards manassas and 49 down towards huntington and 48 in gaithersburgo cooler in the suburbs. a cool start tomorrow. high temperatures today, 72 d.c. and 72 fredericksburg and i think we'll be back there so another great day. radar, don't look at this, ground clutter. nothing on the radar. no rain no clouds and what we did see was a few clouds during the day today and as we widen out, we've got one storm system moving off the coast and another one coming down from canada and yet another one down towards the south. these are the two that i'm watching. these two here will actually be coming together and as they do they will be moving right into the region. here's the storms one towards the great lakes and one towards the gulf of mexico and the first storm, this one back towards the west is an upper area of low pressure. that's the one that will give us the most rain. most of that may be to the west before transferring the energy off to the coast. this coastal low, maybe a nor'easter but not going to be that strong. we're not going to see that much from th
