we are asking wisconsin's lieutenant governor, mandela barnes later this hour. plus, the reversing of roe, what that means for some other rights in this country. during this pride month, right for the lgbtq+ community are under fire. we are going to hear from jim obergefell, the man who led the legal battle for same sex marriage. i am symone sanders, and i have something to say. two days after supreme court overturned roe v. wade, the nation continues to grapple with the realities of a post roe america. yang, that's not good. at least nine states have already banned abortion. ripping away women's rights to make decisions about their own bodies. even more states are expected to follow. thousands of americans nationwide are still hitting the streets to protest the courts ruling. and the idea that state governments can now force people to give birth. meanwhile, democratic members of congress are sounding the alarm. but, how are they talking about this? well, they are talking about how the decision will affect americans everywhere. take a listen to democratic congre

joining me now is mandela barnes. thank you sir, for being here. want to ask you, you still need to get through the primary. you were the front runner as of right now. what is the big challenge that your campaign is facing right now? >> thank you so much, tiffany, for having me. the campaign is doing incredibly. well one of the biggest challenges is having people on both sides who can write themselves unlimited checks and sums of money. this is one of the biggest problems that we are dealing with is money and politics. that is what we are building in our grassroots operation. we won't lie. it is competing or front runners. i am part of the grassroots movement that we have grown. we have raised over $4 million. the average donation is around 40 bucks. this is part of the momentum and enthusiasm that it will take to send ron johnson packing this november. at the end of the, day i would rather have 1 million $1 donors than one 1 million dollar donor. for folks who want to be one in 1 million, the did change that joins the campaign. >> i like, that one

the front-runner is lieutenant governor mandela barnes, he's got the support of a lot of progressivesucus, jim clyburn, he's got the teamsters and local officials. how do you deliver with economic policy with barnes? >> yeah, thanks, andrea, thanks so much for having me. i think why we've seen so many momentum in the campaign and why the polls are tightening because our economic message is the one that worked since day one. we've been talking about how to put money back in people's pockets. this is one that differ on ron johnson greatly. johnson had the tax cut and took it away from working class americans. i actually want to bring those back, things like making gas mileage tax deductible. union dues tax deductible. your travel to and from work tax deductible. these are all things that ron johnson took away from working class voters at a time when they need it most. >> of course, ron johnson is the republican incumbent. and this is considered by the cook political report one of the two top races where democrats could pick up. so, when we look at ron johnson and some of his policies, h
