thank you. >> supervisor mandelman: thank you. next speaker. >> hello again, supervisors, natasha with block san francisco. in the last iteration of the city's vision zero two-year strategy from 2017-2018 it was stated that they would establish baseline percentages for citations and warnings given to people of color. and we're happy to see the first part of this fiscal year's data today that we'd like the sfpd to continue to update this the day to provide -- this data to provide to the public to have an equitable process as possible. and the hiring situation is dire but in the meantime state legislation like automated speed enforcement that supervisor yee was bringing up early, we'll continue to fight for the state-wide legislation to provide support for the sfpd in catching people speeding on our high injury corridors in our city. thank you. >> supervisor mandelman: thank you. any other members of the public who would like to comment? seeing none, i'm going to close public comment. commander, did you want to respond to anything?

i want to end with an example project -- >> supervisor mandelman: supervisor fewer. >> supervisor fewer: just one question about the roundabouts. so we have installed, m.t.a. has installed a lot of roundabouts and i have heard from pedestrians that people who are driving actually don't know how to drive in a roundabout. so they're really distracte disd they feel as though it's actually making it more unsafe to cross as a pedestrian because their eyes aren't on the pedestrians but, rather, on how i drive around this thing. so can you mention a bit what you think that m.t.a. can do to put an extra eye on pedestrian safety and the roundabout situation? >> of course, yeah. so in terms of traffic circles or roundabouts, there's a lot of the nuance to the describe. so we have some where they're stop controlled and so it's traditional stop control intersection and you traditionally go around this circle. but we have others where there's two intersecting streets that have the stop controls and the others don't and some suggest that is not as intuitive. the idea with the traffic circle is that y

. >> morning, supervisors, and congratulations, supervisor mandelman. nice to see you in this role. i am the director of california department of the arts. i want to thank you all for the time to consider this very specific measure to restore funding from the hotel tax fund to the arts, which was the original intention. you know, san francisco is such a beacon, not only in california and the united states, but in the world, and so now that we know that we are the fifth largest economy in the world in california, we deserve to have an arts community in san francisco that continues to be the innovative resource for creativity that we know is the role that we play in the arts nationally. as far as arts infrastructure goes, our organization receives no funding from the city of san francisco for our basic services for artists. our home is in district 2, and so we're happy to be at fort mason center and to be part of a whole web of activities there, but we also serve as a resource for the whole state. we get funding from the city and county of los angeles. that is the city of los angeles,

. >> supervisor mandelman: supervisor fewer? >> supervisor fewer: excuse me. you just mentioned this was really not about the righthand turns, but you said that you are extending the length of time for people to cross the intersections which i think is great. but i'm asking, wondering, if you are evaluating specific intersections. for example, the institute on aging which is all seniors, i mean you just mentioned that, i believe that the commander did that, that it is seniors that are susceptible to these fatalities and also injuries. so i have an intersection at palm and actually gary that is right in front of the institute on aging. so the primary people that use that intersection are all seniors. are you you evaluating those intersections to see whether or not they would need more time to cross the streets? >> yes, in terms of the three feet policy, and there's two tracks. one is proactive where we look at locations where we have concerning or look at corridors also. and gary boulevard is looked at as a whole to see what is the appropriate crossing time in
