thank you chair preston and supervisor haney, supervisor mandelman and supervisor chan. i'm going to provide a brief update where we are with vaccination. things are rapidly evolving and everybody is working very hard to try to get as many shots in the arms as possible. so in terms of vaccinating and where we're at, can you see that for all of san francisco -- or what's been administered in sprisk, i should say -- san francisco, i should say, we've had over 110,000 doses, and specifically for san franciscans it's over 80,000 doses. these have been divided between first and second shots, approximately 9% of the population has been vaccinated to the point of are we getting shots in arms fast enough. we are utilizing all of our allocations that the department of public health gets, 62% of vaccines have been given. the remaining 38% are earmarked either for a first appointment scheduled this week or for second doses. so all allocations, the entire allocation has been determined and accounted for. next slide. so i wanted to take a minute to review the city vaccination strateg

good morning, supervisors, stefani, haney, mar and mandelman. thank you, supervisor stefani for inviting us. my name is adrian. i'm a manager at a jail called choices. it's been in existence over 26 years. i have a masters degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis on marriage family therapy. like steve, i'm a recovering heroin addict with 21 years clean and sober and graduate of the choices program. once again, i think it's important we get into this. if you look at the demographics, there's no big surprises except the under-representation of women who responded to the survey. women are fastest growing incarcerated population in the country. women use drugs for different reasons than men. usually as a direct response to trauma. we have found that out in the jail program for our women. and it's really significant that women have the time and the space to be able to deal with trauma moving forward in their recovery. i wish there had been more women that responded. we're hoping in a follow-up, we'll be able to incorporate more data from wome

i would like to thank supervisions peskin, mandelman,and chan. i'm an s.f. resident with two young kids in this school district, in second and fourth grade, and i'm currently vice president of programs at the san francisco foundation, where we're singularly focused on economic inclusion in the bay area. while the foundation is the first place i've been in my career that explicitly holders racial equity as our north star, my entire career has been in advancing economic student for low income communities of color (indiscernable) and before then, in programatic work. as often is the case, as my career path is groundedin my personal backgrou, as a latin-american who has grown up in a mexican-american family. i watched my parents struggle so my four siblings could have opportunities that they literally have never dreamed of. and this is what grounds me. equity is such a big concept and can often feel nebulous and elusive, and i think that is okay. it is on each of us to grapple with that elusive elusiveness and make meaning of it. i would argue the power of this
