explain, stevie. >> yeah mandy. there has been a lot of worrisome economic data these past few weeks and this morning that raises questions about the friday jobs report. let me show you what i'm talking about. the adp data 189,000 coming in below the prior one and below the estimate of 225. the ism manufacturing survey coming in again below the estimate, below the prior, and inside that ism report wills an employment component asking manufacturers how they're doing hiring coming in at 50. that's the lowest since may 2013. here are the negatives as we get ready for the friday jobs report. corporate profits have pretty of flat-lined. retail sales have been negative three months in a row. allows where i weather, low oil prices creating firings in the oil patch, and a strong dollar along with overall weak growth running around 1.3% for the cnbc rapid update. the positive jobless claims jobs, however, laying growth. we may have positive job growth from the prior strong growth. there has been a thaw-out in march and stron

>> mandy this is a new study from j.d. power, and it shows us what we want when it comes to connectivity and technology in a vehicle, and it might surprise a few people. the latest study from j.d. power shows that when it comes to the latest most preferred technology in a vehicle, consumers want safety, not connectivity. connectivity rates much lower on the list. car buyers are willing, however, to spend for the technology between $2,000 and $3,500 if they find that technology is going to help them behind the wheel. what are the most desired auto tech features? blind spot detection as well as prevention. we're already seeing that on a number of vehicles. night vision collision mitigation and avoidance systems well camera and rear-view mirror systems. think about it all of these are basically out there in the market already and we've seen them in other cars so we're comfortable with them already. by comparison the study found just 19% of those studied or surveyed i should point out, 5,300 people surveyed only 19% want auton

>> i think for the mid-caps there is a bit of room mandy. those divergences, recently you've seen the transports acting a little weaker while the small and mid-cap spaces have been doing a little better. that's a little bit of a flip of what we saw last fall. so that is not necessarily bad for the market. i would agree with mark that we've been a long way from that 10% correction and that's certainly not out of the range of possibilities, although we're pretty constructive on the market going forward. and particularly on some specific stocks. >> let's talk very quickly about those specific talks. you like alliance data systems, sky work solutions and aetna. sky work and aetna have had big moves. do you still like them after those big moves? >> we do like them. sky works has been one of our better performers for quite some time it's doing well again this year but it's doing well because the fundamental growth behind the company is so strong. they're going to grow earnings about 50% this year, about double over where they were two years ago. a

give us the run down. >> good morning ran ging mandy. the important thing is a lit of china, a little bit of european worries. the hope had been that once europe closed there would be a little bit of a bounce. as you see, nothing. what we've got a basically flat lining here. i would say we have very heavy volume. much heavier than recently. we've already done 75% of the normal daily volume. you see some heavy volume here in some of the european etfs. there you see that drop. it's recovered a little bit. there were some headlines that s&p might down grade russia if the economy deteriorates a bit. that may have been a factor there. but you see russia down as well. china another issue. regulators issued a crack down on stock margin trading after the close in china. the china market is not reflecting that. but the etfs here to the downside about five %. really not a lot of moves. >> let's head straight over to the nasdaq at times square. bertha has been following the big moves there. >> biggest movers today are the bio techs. they're the wor

mandy drury is back. mandy, i missed you, good morning. >> good to be back jose good to see you.to high gear now, but here's the catch. for the first time in six years, earnings are expected to be negative. we're expecting about a 2.9% drop in s&p 500 net income. that's according to thomson reuters, and the problem is it also comings as evaluations are the highest level in a decade. the question of course is are the weak earnings already priced in. if the expectations bar has been sufficiently lowered, maybe it will be easier for companies to beat and we might get a positive reaction of the stock price. we'll just have to wait and see. this week we have the major banks and financials, other big blue chips like intel and johnson & johnson and it comes off a good week for the market. last week the dow and s&p were both up 1.7% nasdaq up by over 2%, so we're coming off sort of a high base. we'll just have to wait and see what the earnings will do to the market. >> mandy, what apple says if they sold a million watches in the first day of preorders or something like this. >> yeah it's

mandy drury joins me good morning. >> hey jose you're absolutely right, the nasdaq is gaining about .4se gains yesterday. and if you kind of look at the numbers over the past month, it's a bit of groundhog day going on here because the major indexes are pretty much where they were a month ago with a lot of volatile trading in between, but you get what i mean it's been in a range. nonetheless, this is the biggest earnings week so far this season, but don't be fooled by a lot of companies beating their expectations, because number one, the bar was really low and aggressively. number two, revenue is coming in short in a lot of cases and the dollar strength has been a common trend on the negative side. the good thing here is you think the dollar strength of the first quarter is not going to continue in future quarters at least at the same pace it could be temporary, but before i go one other sector we are really watching today, the health care sector, because israel pharmaceutical has put in a bid for mylam, which is at a record high and could be the drug industry's largest takeover this y

mandy drury is here with the market drounrundown. >> we're a little lower here.h and they totalled 926,000 annualized. it was less than expected but more than february and we got more initial jobless claims than expected. they rose to 294,000, which was also higher than last week. the amount of people losing their jobs and filing for those claims remain lucid. we got some more banks, citigroup, third biggest bank here, 16% jump in quarterly profit and also goldman sachs enjoyed a 41% rise in its first quarter profits. good numbers there and late yesterday netflix announced it added more subscribers than it forecast here in the united states and also internationally. remember, it's really expanding internationally so that was for the first quarter. 22% more subscribers. i watch netflix. everyone i know watches netflix. >> my kids love it. absolutely. thanks. appreciate it. >>> speaking of money, we're following the campaign cash on the road to 2016. we have new numbers. ted cruz campaign says it raked in over $4 million in the first quarter. meanwhile, the rubio c
