mandy drury is here with what's moving your money.t's king digital, that's candy crush, and they want to go for big bucks. >> they really do. at the ipo price it was valued at $7 billion, which some people sounds crazy for what essentially is a one-trick pony. i know king digital has 180 games, but about three-quarters of its revenue does come from candy crush. as we can see, it's down about 10% and i think what people are concerned about here is it does need to convince investors it is a whole lot more than just a one-trick pony. >> is candy crush a fad? some new game will come out and most of their interest is gone. >> the people supporting this do say, well, it's making money, right? estimates it's going to grow its revenue to about $2.5 billion this year, and last year it made a profit of about $567 million, so it is making a profit, but remember the lessons of farmville. have you ever played farmville? >> i don't play any of those video games. >> either do i, but the company behind farmville was synga. it had an ipo and went publ

cnbc's mandy drury is here with what's moving your money.bank of america is justifying a through the roof pay hike. now $14 million? >> yeah, he's not even the highest paid banking ceo, but you're right, his 2013 compensation package did rise more sharply than most, the whopping 89%. smack on that $14 million from $7.4 million in 2012, that does include stock valued at $11 million, up from about $6 million the year before. in contrast, jpmorgan's jamie dimon received $20 million. citigroup's ceo got $17.6 million, up 42%. goldman sachs, you know, $23 million, up 10%, but it all does come just a day after bank of america said it's going to pay $9.3 billion to settle a lawsuit stemming from the 2008 financial crisis. you might also recall going back to that time the bank of america got a $45 billion federal bailout, which it repaid in 2009, but nonetheless, some of these numbers are making people, i guess, sit up and really pay attention. >> speaking of money, if you're not a kardashian but you want to live like one, the w hotel here in new yo

mandy drury is here with what's moving your money.ing to hold hearings? >> congress really wants to know why it took nearly a decade to initiate this recall of 1.6 million vehicles that have been linked to 13 deaths because of a faulty ignition. it's becoming somewhat of a blame game, though, for example, versus company gm versus regulators. this investigation will hopefully through the hearings process reveal some of these answers, but gm, for its part, wants to be seen to be rapidly responding under the new ceo, they've hired tom, who led the investigation into the 2008 lehman collapse, he's going to be leading gm's internal investigations and they've also done things like put up a website, so if you're someone who feels you might be affected, you can see details about, for example, the models asked and that kind of thing. and that recall was initiated on february the 13th. still a lot of answers that we need out here, but hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it. >> also an interesting story for mcdonald's. february was kind of disa

cnbc's mandy drury is here with what's moving your money.w report ahead of tomorrow's hearing on capitol hill, what do we know? >> the investigators, just to give a little background once again, they are looking at why gm took a decade to recall the vehicles with the faulty admission switches and said federal regulators declined two times to open complaints about the cars and gm projected a proposed fix for the problem back in 2005 because of it would have taken too long and cost too much. this helps, obviously, to fill in some of the blanks we're trying to work out here. we need to know more about the events that led up to the recall of 2.6 million vehicles and the investigations are continuing. but we do know that both gm and the national highway traffic safety administration will be pressed on why they missed several opportunities as spelled out during that time to alert the public to the dangers posed by the cars that had the faulty ignition switches that should have then shut down and could disable the air bags and the power steering an

cnbc's mandy drury here with what's moving your monday., reversing two months of disappointing job reports. what are the experts saying? >> we hope we're turning a corner on the job market. we will have to watch the next couple of months. good news is the severe winter weather we were talking about on set yesterday, chris, it does look to have had less of a dampened effect on hiring by u.s. companies than we were fearing, but it is a dilemma to policy makers, because we have to try to ascertain the extent of the impact on the economy and hiring from this weather. you know, is it just temporary, is it a more worrying underline weakening of the economy? all these questions. a real bright spot, though, i found in the job report and that is an increase in the average hourly earnings. twice expectations. this is something we really need when you consider how much commodity prices have gone up. breakfast costs more, coffee prices have gone up, oj prices, bacon prices, rents have been going up. anything we can see in more wages or wage growth is

. >> cnbc's mandy drury is here with what's moving your money.re than 3 million vehicles being recalled by gm. >> right. we heard yesterday about the next round of wide-ranging recalls. clearly, the company, chris, is really trying to tackle the crisis with a new sense of urgency to look like they're really on top of this. so these new recalls cover 1.7 million vehicles worldwide, on top of last month's recall of 1.6 million have chevrolet cobalts and other models. and these recalls are for a number of different reasons. like the recalls the for the suvs because of a wiring problem that could cause air bags not to deploy in a crash. what i should say, though, chris, is apparently there is no indication from gm that any of the affected models have been involved in accidents that resulted in injuries or deaths. this is the new lot of recalls. but i guess they're trying to be, better safe than sorry. some of the vehicles involved, if you're wondering, they're buick enclaves, gmc acadias from the 2008 to 2013 years, chevrolet traverses from 2009 to 2
