they famously housed the manhattan project.what do we know about exactly what is in that laboratory? >> they build components for u.s. atomic weapons. there is a lot of waste products. the concern about this fire is about 2 miles from the laboratory, and 20,000 or 30,000 drums of radioactive material, much of which is containing plutonium. there is concern that it could spread the contamination to the rich -- surrounding state. >> there is no risk of contaminated material and the facility? >> i don't know if you can say there is no risk. there is always a risk here. these drums are stored in structures. the los alamos fire department is not adequately prepared -- they're concerned about the capability of the firefighters and there is risk. >> how do u.s. officials reveal the safety? >> one of the good pieces of news is that nebraska, it is not as bad as it could have been. the operators of that plant, there is preventative action. again, there is risk. the floodwaters are quite high. they knocked out the back of generators and

dominique strauss-kahn is accused of assaulting and trying to rape a maid at a manhattan hotel. strauss-kahn has been under house arrest since his release last month on $6 million bond. it includes 24-hour monitors and armed guards. if he's convicted he faces up to 25 years behind bars. >>> former nfl star plaxico burress is a free man today. the former nfl new york giants wide receiver was released from prison in upstate new york today. burress was jailed after accidentally shooting himself in the thigh with an unlicensed handgun he took into a manhattan nightclub. before that incident burress was at the top of his game. he made the game-winning catch earlier that year in super bowl xlii. he plans to play in the nfl again. >>> a woman is dead and two others seriously injured after a stabbing in fairfax county. this happened early this morning in an apartment complex along braddock springs road in centreville. that's where police found three people suffering from stab wounds. a man and woman were transported to a nearby hospital and another woman was pronounced dead at the scene
