kavanaugh was involved in the nominations and was involved.anda we did not know until november marandat mannyusands of emails and messages , letters, talking points, memos of the like from democratic staff on the senate judiciary committee. we did not know until this past week the full extent of the communications or even part of the extent of the contact between maranda and brett kavanaugh in the sense how they were working together. we certainly did not know before now until senator leahy's questioning and the questioning this past week that in fact there were talking points, letters, excerpts from memos that were provided to brett kavanaugh, along with other information that would have certainly let him, any result first and, to believe there were inside democrats. he testified in 2004 just one month after the senate sergeant at arms issued a damning report randa'sanny ma involvement. at the time he was refusing to tell the senate sergeant at arms who his white house contacts were. i think now we know why. amy: i want to go back to senator patrick leahy questioning judge kavanaugh last wee

and one of the examples, you mentioned the manny miranda case that got a lot of attention during the judiciary hearing, and another one is judge william pryor's confirmation to the 1 is 1th circuit court of appeals. he was a controversial nomination. he called roe v. wade an abomination. we saw some e-mails for the first time last week that talked a little bit about how brett kavanaugh may have had some knowledge of how an interview with pryor went, that he was on these e-mails to strategize for pryor's confirmation hearing. but at his own confirmation hearing more than a dozen years ago, judge kavanaugh, at the time just kavanaugh, said that he had no involvement in this. this wasn't one i was involved in personally. there did seem to be some discrepancies we got from those e-mails, and he did get a chance to explain that during the judiciary hearing last week, but as you know, you're getting these increasingly louder perjury calls. now, i do want to point out that senate democrats for the most part have been careful not to use those words just yet, rather saying they are -- he appe

more dramatic moments, when the nominee was grilleded about the involvement with the e-mails that manny sent, which contained information that he had stolen from members years ago. kavanagh said in 2004 and 2006, that he had never received these e-mails. that he didn't really know b about them. that he had nothing to do with it. it turned out he had and in fact, there's an e-mail released that shows that he had heard about a mole who was inside the democratic staff. pulling this information on these talking points and its slate. we ran a piece by one of the individuals who wrote one of the stolen e-mails who feels that kavanagh absolutely lied about his involvement and that rather than being elevated to the supreme court, he should be impeached from his spot on the d.c. circuit. so that was dramatic and it's gotten a lot of play politically, but i'm not sure it's going to convince senators lisa murkowski or collins to vote against kavanagh and at the end of the day, if it doesn't change their calculations or persuade them to vote against him, it doesn't matter that much aside from some
