"eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers has new information from mantua. >> reporter: a quiet block and heavy police presence sunday afternoon in mantua as patrol cars made constant runs through a neighborhood peppered with recent violence. late saturday night a block party along the 4100 block of ogden was wrapping up when gun shots rang out: two men walked up to the party and one fired a shot gun spraying bird shot into the crowd. 10 people were shot including a 12-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy and an 18 month old girl. all the victims are in stable condition. police say the suspect may have been involved in a fight on this block last week and was looking to retaliate. that possible motive is still preliminary for now. however, at police continue to work to identify the two suspects involved. >> i just seen the people running and getting in the cars and it's sad because children got hit too so that's something that -- that bothered me, you know, 'cause i am about to be a full-time father and just being around it, you know, just seeing and hearing it is very devastating, though.

matt delucia is mantua in gloucester county. >> we are here on windsor way. this is a disaster area at least in some spots out here. this home here entire side of the house was torn off. you see the backyard here. this fence is just torn off as well. just pieces of that. the plastic and the roofing material, the shingles are just littered across this yard out here. the same situation at the homes just behind this one and the ones next door. then really you can look across the street and some of these homes have zero damage so really hit or miss, depending on where the storm hit and where these winds really picked up speed. but we have been seeing this throughout the area out here and a lot of these homes did not have power. some of these homes have been condemned because of all damage out here. this is really just a result of those straight line wind. again, there was no tornado reported in this area. really just heavy straight line wind coming through this area. we have been seeing a lot of people over the past 24 hours come out and start cleaning up some of

philadelphia police say a woman was attacked in mantua.nbc 10's monique braxton is live at 32nd and wallace street. tell us what you know. >> reporter: hi, tracy. police have been outside this home for almost two hours now. they were called here about 3:47 by a 68-year-old marne who says he lives here. he told police a 29-year-old woman broke into his house, thinking the house was vacant. she told him she wanted to use the bathroom. the unidentified man says he hit her on the head with an ax to defend himself. right now, he is at southwest detectives. the victim is in critical condition at presbyterian hospital. and the ax has been recovered inside this house. we're showing you a straight shot through the doorway. police say it is bizarre because they're not sure that someone actually lives here but yet they have a woman who has been attacked. so two things that detectives are working on when they arrive here. first, that will be to prove that someone lives in this house and, second to find out the relationship between the two and, third,
