trying to shift the page away from trump and onto the investigator himself, brianna. >> all right, manu, thank you. sara, that is new york. take us to georgia where there is another investigation. what is the latest there? >> the investigation all started back when trump called georgia's secretary of state, brad raffensperger and pressed him to find the votes so we're learning and don lemon, my colleague, that the district attorney is considering racketeering charges. this is something on her radar for awhile considering bringing this wide-ranging case that would look at donald trump and his associates as a criminal enterprise. of course, no one has been charged yet in the case and seen the first move by trump's legal team related to this case and it's an aggressive one today. in a new court filing they went into court in georgia basically asking for a judge, not the judge who is overseeing the special purpose grand jury but any other judge on the bench to hear their motion that essentially the special grand jury's final report and all of the evidence that it collected should be tossed.

and manu. let's go to you. i know you've been talking to democrats and republicans on the hill today that you heard from house speaker kevin mccarthy. how are they reacting? yeah i just spoke with speaker mccarthy . and he made his clearest indication yet that congress is expected to move we tried to ban this very popular social media app nationwide. i asked him whether or not he supports legislation that would essentially give the administration power to ban tiktok, he said. we don't necessarily need to wait for the administration. congress can do it in itself. and i said, so. does that mean you support the idea of congress moving ahead and banning tiktok? he said yes. and then i asked him about the concern about not acting i think the hearing today have you all been walking part of this bipartisan concern here with what's happening on tiktok, especially what's happening. to the data for americans. there's many different ramifications here, so i think they could come together like two committees do their work

manu raju joins me now from capitol hill and manu. obviously, this is not what people expected right if they expected it. they didn't expect it now. people thought maybe the grand jury gone away for a few weeks. so what is the reaction in congress tonight? yeah we're seeing a bit of a divide within the top republican ranks here on capitol hill, the house republican leadership rushing to donald trump's defense. we have seen speaker of the house kevin mccarthy go after the prosecutor alvin bragg, saying that they're going to go after his quote, unprecedented abuse of power that they would hold him to account. the house. republican leaders have indicated they want brad to come to capitol hill testify. this is before today's indictment expect that effort to intensify even as bragg has resisted those calls and those whose to push back against us, said that the republicans are simply trying to interfere in an ongoing criminal investigation before even seeing any of the evidence and the indictment itself. now one republican in the senate sen
