man manu raju is on capitol hill. the gang of 17 is coming together. can they do it on time. >> those are all the big questions. what we'll see at this house senate conference committee are these members making their opening pitches and it will be clear the divide between republicans and democrats about border security, about fencing about the wall about whether they can do anything bigger beyond funding for border security and immigration. i can tell you the senators, the house members the, the last couple days it's clear that there's not much expectation that they can do a bigger deal about immigration dealing with things such as dreamers and temporary protective status programs. those issues seem to be thornier. what's more likely is a narrower deal with funding levels and going up to the president's demands of $5.7 billion, both sides are skeptical they can get anywhere near that. more likely if anything in the range of $1.3 billion, $1.6 billion but the question is whether democrats will allow any of that as the president calls for steel barrier.
