good to see yo-- manzanilla. good to see you. >> thank you. good afternoon, supervisors. >> supervisor cohen: i'm with you. present. >> okay. supervisor cohen, chair person tang, vice chair person, other supervisors here, my name is enrique manzanilla. i'm the director of the super fund division of the u.s. e.p.a. located here in san francisco. i am joined by my technical team. you have heard already from the navy who is the lead on the cleanup at the hunters point shipyard cleanup. my department has overseen the cleanup to make sure that it is done in a way that follows the super fund laws and other laws that protect the environment. we take this mission very seriously. for the past decades we and the state have been monitoring radiological levels on an ongoing basis to ensure the safety of the surrounding community. for example we have been reviewing radiological data collected from navy regulators. we have also done independent radiological testing at various sites in independent laboratories. we are aware of the deep concern that you and t

[applause] >> now, i'm compelled to go back in history and correct some of the mi mischaracterizations that you've heard here this afternoon. 2012, it's true that the navy identified what they call anomalies and what we call fraudulent samples. it's true that it took two years for tetratech to publish a report, and it is equally true that tetratech alleged that they had taken care of the problem, it was the problem of a few rogue employees, management had nothing to do with it, everything is taken care of. ladies and gentlemen, nothing to see here, please move on. the navy, e.p.a. accepted that report in 2014. they accepted the report. they

'(ken)new at 6. a new delay for san francisco's under construction central subway.according to city officials -- a contractor laid down three-point-two miles of the wrong type of track. apparently they used a lower grade material than what the contract had specificed.the city has ordered the contractor to remove and replace the tracks. this will delay the project by one month - it is now set to be completed january 2020.the city says the contractor will be responsible for the cost. when complete the subway will run from chinatown to the cal train station on 4th street.
