maria: right. >> a step in that direction. maria: the u.s.ce in poland where we learned that the chinese did the same thing to poland that they have been doing across africa and that is saying, we will create, we will -- we will do your infrastructure on telecom only to be able to tap into that infrastructure and listen in and spy if the polish government is in talks on any kind of security with the united states right there the chinese have open way to listen in on that. the u.s. is getting impacted as well. >> oh, yeah, because these are our allies, china doesn't give them a choice, create large loans for them to build infrastructures, dams, roads, et cetera, to be part of the deal they force huawei on them. that's part of the negotiation, you will ak kept your telecommunication system, so they own the data in the country for generations to come, maria, it's really quite astounding in terms of strategic ambitions that they have here. maria: it's incredible. let me ask you because i want to get to north korea, before i end on this subject, t

maria: all right.ta talks because president trump is encouraging members of congress to approve his new usmca deal, the deal with canada and mexico, nafta 2.0. it was signed by all three countries at the g-20 summit in november. your state of pennsylvania, largely dependent on nafta. are you supporting usmca? >> you know, i am. i do think it's brought reforms, modernizations to nafta. it was a win-win-win, all left that trade negotiation pleased. canada wanted very much to keep the act 19 mediation process in place. we needed to open up canada for dairy, which is very important to my district and to my state. from a mexico standpoint, there's a stronger country or origin manufacturing requirement and a need for wage increases. so we all compete on a fair playing field. it's a win-win-win and i do support it as a member of congress. maria: a lot of people think it's a win-win but at the same time a lot of your colleagues on the democratic side said they're not going to vote for it and they're going to w

maria: yeah.ave to pay more taxes than they thought. the high tax states, because you lost the salt deduction. i think there's going to be sticker shock after april 15t april 15th. maybe that impacts the economy. what do you think? >> i think it's very possible. but there's so much tax paid in the new york, new jersey, connecticut, california relative to the rest of the country, i think those taxpayers are going to feel the sticker shock. it's going to be outrageous. it's going to be become a big political issue in the 2020 elections. >> congressman brady turned into this a battleground. this is going to continue to go on for decades. maria: governor cuomo said he's got a $2 billion shortfall in the budget because rich people are leaving. one reason is the elimination of salt. dagen: he's going to have to cut spending. maria: or cut taxes. coming up, there's congressman adam schiff. what to say about adam schiff. his threat to the trump administration. he claims there's evidence of collusion in pl

maria: you're right.usehold staples. what are your thoughts on some of these companies raising prices? i know we haven't seen inflation on the cpi or ppi level. it's concerning to see so many industries for household staples take prices up. >> right. well, right now the price index information that we're seeing in terms of increases is pretty tame and so the increases that we're hearing about are anecdotal. i haven't seen anything that rises to the level of showing up in the top numbers yet. if you look at p.e.c. inflation, it's still looking very reasonable. we are seeing a tick-up in wages, followed by a tick-up in productivity as we've been saying for a while. i don't see anything right now that's overall inflation pressure therinpressures butthee that's go up. maria: are you still expecting a 3% economic growth story for 2018. >> we started the quarter with a three handle on the jobs number. when you start a quarter with 300,000 in a month you get a 3% growth number, the average since 1990 is north of

maria: wow.ngly as the founder and the leader of that company looks like his behavior is erratic. the pulling out of new york city after the big dog and pony show, did they ever intend to really have two additional kind of secondary headquarters? the problems with his mistress, now girlfriend, the marriage breaking up, the blog post that in hindsight looks like it was a miss that i think thamistake. i think that this is a conversation people are starting to have more and more of who is running the company and is he pulled in too many different directions? >> your key questions, dagen, are what the vendors are asking to. the vendors when they're investing incremental money in terms of the brand, suppliers and resources, they see walmart as stable, strategic, great leaders and a mission to win and they see amazon all over and you're referencing you really need the confidence of the vendor community to help fund growth and on the flip side, to your point on amazon, the biggest blow-ups on kne knee a
