maria: all right. threat for the gulf of mexico, we are watching these storms today, oil and gasoline surging to five month highs this week, around 82% of oil production suspended by midday yesterday in the gulf of mexico. tropical storm laura expected to strengthen to a major hurricane so we could have even more impact. phil, how do you see things in the oil of markets given what we're seeing in the weather? >> i think this is the most significant challenge we've seen from these storms in many, many years because it isn't just one, maria, it's two. first we have to shut down production for tropical depression now marco and now a possible cat 4 which means production in the gulf is going to be closed down more than in recent memory. the bigger concern i have right now is for gasoline prices. we have over a million barrels a day of refining capacity shut in because of these storms and the track of the storm is going right over refinery row. there's a possibility that the refiners could be down for a per

maria: yeah. i mean, you make a good point, but are you still expecting a bounceback in the second half of the year? i mean, we're looking right now where the jobs are in these sectors, and leisure ands hospitality, amazingly, was creating 592,000 jobs in the month of july. retail trade at 258,000. so you did see job creation even if it wasn't at the level that we saw in june. do you still expect a double-digit growth number for the second half of the year? >> i do see a double-digit growth rate in the third quarter. again, we are seeing a good bounceback relative to what we saw in the second quarter. that's very, very positive. so i'm looking for real gdp to grow something close to 20% possibly in the third quarter. now, what happens in the fourth quarter is all going to be determined by what happens in washington d.c. are they, in fact, going to reenergize this continued expansion, or are they basically not going to do anything and by the fourth quarter you're going to see a real stalling. and,
