marc: i agree. to workers and incorporate -- i like to see stronger productivity numbers. this is a nice uptick. we need to see sustained gains in productivity to make a difference. how do we get there? marc: not easy. a combination of businesses investing more. we talk about lower interest rates and part of what this means is businesses have to lower their threshold to make investment decisions. the breakeven for investments has to come down as much as interest rates and yields. alix: if their threshold is $10, it has to go down to five because rates are becoming lower and more negative. marc: you have a ceo of a business proposal who says you 10%, the business down might say you only need 5% to make it realistic. alix: what do you think about that? sarah: that is an interesting discussion about expectations and reality. that is to say i will stick with a high level of irr i used to to do things even though the cost is higher. the thing for companies is are these conditions going to stay? initially
