let's turn right now to marc morial. report on the 2015 state of black america. your letter at the beginning, you you write this. so, what is the state of black america in 2015? in short, on many fronts black america remains in crisis. and we see justice challenged at every turn. this has been a cataclysmic year for race relations in america. no doubt about it. i think you would have to go back to the late '60s, early '70s to see a year as rough as this one on the national level. how though in the areas that you rate, social justice, education, income equality how did things pan out there? >> so, joe, i think importantly, i'd like to highlight some good news areas. one good news area is that health disparities measured by index narrowed over the last several years. i think that's a significant finding. and when you step back and say, why? you've got to say that the affordable care act had a significant impact on narrowing the gap in health disparities. >> i find it fascinating, social justice, pretty big jump in narrowin

looking at the report and talking to urban league ceo marc morial who told me today when it comes to african-american income and employment and especially he says the net worth of black families now in america, we're in a state of emergency. the urban league report says the biggest problem facing african-americans is not their treatment by police or what students at university of virginia charged last night was mistreatment after student martese johnson was bloodied by cops. the report finds social justice for blacks improving, less crime and violence but finds a stunning and worsening economic gap between white americans and african-americans. who now have a median net worth of just $6,300 versus $111,000 for whites. black income is $35,000 vest $58,000 for whites. and the black unemployment rate is more than double that of whites. a tale of two nations, says marc morial, the head of the urban league. >> this is not a sustainable thing for the united states of america and we're a nation that believes that upward economic mobility is tied to education, perseverance and hard work. >>
