afterwards a lot of them had smiles on their faces because they have survived that inferno of the marc wortman and now they're going to be well fed. because they hurt americans that their prisoners will. this is a photograph taken to them at the back towards the division headquarters. a lot of the individuals who fought at cantigny, and i can't emphasize this in the book, ended up leaving or become leaders of the army in world war ii. most obvious is george marshall, but here i wanted to emphasize a few. on the left, this is john church if he was a lieutenant with company b. he ended up getting wounded during consolidation of the line, and in world war ii these a one star general, and the korean war he actually takes command of the 24th infantry division. that's a photograph of him taking during korea. this is clarence huber, two other photographs of him, taken from the war with his favorite colt 45 featured all the way through world war ii. this is him when he commanded the first infantry. theodore roosevelt, jr. was a major, 30 i believe, a major who commanded a battalion of the 26th infantr
