right now marcy gonzales is live on 5 from havana with details. marcy, what else can you tell us about the president's conversation with castro today? >> reporter: well, we got a pretty good idea of what was discussed in that private meeting when the two presidents stood side by side in a rather awkward news conference. at times raul castro avoided answering some questions. he said some things that are getting a lot of attention now, basically denying that there are any political prisoners here, denying there's a human rights issue, and he says despite the progress that's that our countries will always have different views on democracy and human rights. he said really the only way to normalize relations between our two countries is for the trade embargo to be lifted. but president obama said that is something ebels sin evidentable, though he doesn't think the trade embargo will be lifted during his presidency. he feels optimistic the road ahead will be challenging. he thinks there can be progress that will be beneficial both to the cuban and americ
