doing some wonderful things with teenaged boys, and marcus bullock, your company is perspectives premier contractors. your specialty is painting. what i want to hear from you is how you got there. >> very interesting story. when i was released from prison -- >> why were you in prison? >> so, i was arrested for a carjacking, attempted robbery, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. i was 15 years old, about a week after my 15th birthday, a friend of mine, he and i end up carjacking a man in the middle of december, right before christmas. we were sentenced both to 23 years to life. my judge suspended 15 of those years of my sentence and i ended up serving eight years in prison, in an adult prison at 15 years old. >> while you were in there, were you reading and writing? >> that became the latter part of me being in prison. the first part, you know, being a kid in prison, growing up in prison is a little challenging, to say the least. you know, a set of challenges, different set of challenges. not typical for an adolescent, but growing up through there you have to figure out a way

lynn: thank you, marcus.sed at not messing with the charm of the shuler's location. but i do like the fact that i could take a piece of shuler's and spread it across the country. when i first went to shuler's, i saw lines out the door. a great product with great demand but small profits. the good news about this business is that the story's been great. but it's n over. we're breaking ground on a brand-new building that'll have a general store and an expanded bake shop for lynn. that should get done in the next six to eight months. while i fixed the flow up front and i added another register, customers are moving through the line much faster. and more customers through the line means more money. i know the additional seating on the deck will provide a significant increase to our revenue. and doing this to leave something sustainable for little shuler to take over one day has a special meaning to me. you were very comfortable with a stranger coming into your business and suggesting and forcing changes. norton:

marcus solis has an update. good morning, marcus. not? this is the snow squall that amy was talking about. it's only going to get worse. overnight, outreach teams were trying to bring in the homeless from the cold. 62 people taken into shelters and another 207 walked in to city public hospitals to come in from the cold. mayor also repeating the fact that there will be no construction work involving cranes this weekend with the high wind gusts expected over 50 miles per hour. all cranes have been secured. we're obviously trying to avoid a repeat of what happened last week. another area of concern for the city is public housing developments over 300 of them, right now, all of them are holding up. all residents in the public housing complexes do have heat. for whose two who don't have heat, don't improvise and run the stove or anything like that. your best bet if you are in need of heat is to call 311. of course the best advice is if you can stay indoors to avoid the cold that is your best bet. marcus solis, channel 7 "eyewitness news." >> t
