in new york, marcy gonzalez, abc 7 not news. -- 7 news. >> let's check out the traffic situation that we saw on mobile track 7 a second ago and see what bob emler sees in the wtop traffic center. what are you keeping your eye on now? >> a lot of people are leaving work early as a result of the snow that is now moving in. that means we've had a bit of a rush hour even on this holiday on the farther south you go and the farther west you go on 66 that's where some of the worst conditions are at least at the moment. and right now, 95 in virginia is one of those areas where traffic is moving slower both ways because of snow cover with the cold temperatures. let's take a look to see what it looks like right now. on the roads, we can look at the cameras and see that 95 is well looking at pretty poor visibility and roads are becoming snow covered out there. it's getting rather dangerous on 95 the snow is definitely accumulating between the lanes. that's true on 66 out to the west as well. on the beltway in prince george's county we can see in some spots that also you get to see that some of t

marcy gonzalez, abc 7 news. >> all right, folks here we go again. snow that's already falling in places as far away and as far south as arkansas is now heading towards our area. >> our chief meteorologist doug hill is in the storm watch 7 center tracking when this winter alert will begin for us. doug? >> this winter advisory goes in effect at midnight and it will last until noon tomorrow in advance of the southern storm system that will bring snow into the area and the snow is going to get heavy at times especially south and east of the area. that's where we expect the heaviest snow and that's where the winter storm warnings are indeed in effect for the same time period going forward. we've been watching all afternoon the storm watch weather center that's rapidly advanced the moisture to the northeast. here we are in washington. it's kicking along pretty fast. lot of rain in the south. snow and kind of a zone of ice over north central sections of georgia and alabama. we expect the snow to move in probably after midnight to 3:00 or 4:00 in the mornin

in new york, marcy gonzalez, abc 7 news. >> d.c. family is seeking answers as it plans a funeral for next tuesday. tawana johnson was arrested for misdemeanor destruction of property. she wound up dead in a jail cell apparent suicide victim. abc 7 spoke to her family. >> some apologies, anything. anything! >> maria johnson and other family members are frustrated seeking answers. their mother the children's grandmother, 46-year-old tawana johnson was found dead, an apparent suicide hanged by the clothing she wore in central lockup at police headquarters february 8th. no details from authorities the family says. just this she heard from an acquaintance also in the cell block that weekend. >> she's not supposed to be there. she need to take her medicine and ignored her for three hours. >> johnson drove a delivery van for an e.p.a. contractor. she admits she had a drug problem. family members said her behavior had become increasingly bizarre, perhaps, because of p.c.p. use. on february 7th, she drove here to congress park. her daughter
