maria: it's a -- mean at large? maria: it's a good question.t. two hinges are happening here. one is that huge spike in arizona a coincides with programs by texas governor abbott to hold the line at the river's edge, to block immigrants, to create resistance against entry at hot spots all along the texas border. what's different in arizona is you have a democratic governor there, also in california and new mexico and this spike in arizona directly coincides with the resistance in texas. so this looks to me like it is a path of least resistance. the numbers are only going to go up. that's the first reason. the second reason is that the biden administration has been giving out hundreds of thousands of entry permits for people to cross at ports of entry. those lines are getting really long. people are sick of those lines in mexico, hundreds of thousands are waiting for these permits and they're peeling off and crossing illegally now and getting in just the same. the administration is letting all of them in. i was just at phoenix sky harbor airport

maria: welcome back. street, top investors watching your money. joining me is kings view asset management partner, mario manarozo. and with us all morning long this morning, mark tepper. mario, good to see you. we're waiting on the inflation data, consumer price index for the month of july is coming out in about an how hour and-a-hal. we're expecting a gain of two tenths of a percent month over month. oil prices have been an issue the last month and quarter. how does that factor into things? >> absolutely. oil's been a sticky spot when it comes to inflation, right. so if you look at oil, we're at near $85 a barrel. we crossed our 200 day moving average on oil and if you look at core pce and regular cpi, oil is at $85 a barrel. it's hurting consumers right now. on top of that, our inflation from last month is actually expected to go higher. cpi at 8:30 today is supposed to be at 3.2%, last month was at 3. maria: oil will be an issue moving the number higher. >> absolutely. it's not just oil. it's oil, it's
