thanks so much for joining us this morning many i'm maria i'm maria bartiromo. it is wednesday, january 8, 7:02 on the east coast. let's kick it off with the hot topic of the hour. incoming officials planning to offer extended tax deductions at mar-a-lago meetings in exchange for salt republicans to fall in line with trump's agenda including a tax bill likely coming later this year. lawmakers have told me this is the debate right now, the salt lawmakers want an assurance that they will get the salt deduction cap lifted in exchange for their vote for the border money. they want $100 billion in border money. politico writes this, one proposal being discussed would allow married couples to deduct $20,000 of state and local taxes from federal income taxes. under current law married couples can deduct $10,000. republican lawmakers in high tax states have been holding out for a potential move like this. with a razor thin house majority they have influence. lindsey graham told me this weekend he's against the salt deduction, though. watch. >> as we negotiate tax cuts,

maria: yeah.nd you know, president trump talked about all of this when discussing his tax cut plans and the critics were saying oh, you know, are you going to cut taxes and you have a deficit that you're facing. his idea is you cut taxes and you increase the swath of people paying in and in fact you're able to raise even more revenue than you expected in the first place, cheryl. >> yeah. all the pay fors we talk about as congress is trying to figure out what they're going to do with the reconciliation package, donald trump is coming up with the pay fors, he's making the policy moves and leading the charge to say this is how you're going to do it and laying out that vision for those members especially in the house that have to do the work. i think also what's interesting is you mentioned the abraham accords, maria and i think about jared kushner and his role in all of that. this is part of the family dynamic that i think also powers him and there's also -- we also saw the arms sale agreement with t

maria: mr.er, if you are able to do everything in the one package including border security, deportations, extending the tax cuts and energy permitting, what's a real will listic timeline on that -- real list ic time hawaiian? would you have that on the president's desk by may? >> i certainly -- by may, yes. in fact, we're targeting a vote in the house maybe in the first week of april. now, everything's got to move in the right sequence and along the way, i think we're going to keep those training moving on time -- trains moving on time. if that happens, early april, maybe as soon as april 3rd. and then move it over to senate. that would put that bill on the president's desk by the end of april. that'd be fantastic. maria: so you're talking about the first 100 days. >> -- memorial day. we are. that's the whole idea. maria: and the worst case, you say, will be memorial day. >> that's right. that's right. maria: you know, i guess the finish. >> yeah. and we'll do it as quickly as possible. maria:
