i'm maria bartiromo. i'll be >>> good evening, everybody. the canadian capital of ottawa is under lockdown at this hour, after a gunman shot and killed a canadian soldier at the country's national war monument. before making his way inside the canadian parliament building, firing off what some witnesses have said were as many as 30 shots. as you can see on your screen, a quick thinking spectator was able to video some of the shooting and people scattering on parliament hill. further violence was stopped. when the parliament hill sergeant at arms shot and killed the assailant who was later identified as 32-year-old michael zehaf-bibeau who is later identified. fortunately, the shooter did not hit a single other person, although three others inside the parliament building were injured. none of them wounded by gunfire. they were taken to the ottawa hospital, but their injuries are considering to be not life-threatening. while we don't know the killer's motive for the shooting only 24 hours earlier, the canadian government had raised its terrori

joining us now from our sister network, maria bartiromo. mcdonald's?nies. something's got to give. the money comes from somewhere. at some point, a company will say, okay. we have a higher expense base because we're raising the minimum wage. we've got to do something somewhere else. in this case, they're going to automation. they're changing certain jobs to computers. by the way, that's probably the biggest story in business right now. sensors. they're being used throughout corporate america right now in many ways. machines talking to machines. eliminating certain jobs. the jobs of the future will be very different than the jobs we are looking at today. >> it's really biting them in the tail. they were complaining saying we want more money. as a result, they're saying hey, we're going to lose some of you guys and replace you with machines. >> because the fact is it's not just about $10 an hour. it's about $10 an hour, plus a benefit package. benefit vacation and of course we know the expensive obamacare. as a result, companies have to do something. so

. >> maria bartiromo is here from "fox business" network. regulation. i think things have changed quite a bit. i think today when you look at capitalism and you look at, say, a small business, somebody who needs a loan, innovators that he's talking about, where are they going for the loan? to wall street. and wall street and the major investment banks are enabling a lot of activity to take place because of the lending. and i think when you make statements like that, it is dangerous because it scares people out of the market to think that everyone is fraudulent, which is absolutely 100% wrong. and unfortunately, you miss a lot of big gains. the average guy and gal out there who miss owning stocks the last couple of years has left a lot of money on the table, unfortunately, and that has only increased the income gap. >> with the legislation and regulations put into place to try to clean up wall street, you think enough has been done or more needs to be done? >> i think enough has been done, frankly. i think the regulatory environment right now
