that's where we find kpix5's maria medina out at moffat field. >> reporter: i could have tied down myair, but i wanted to show you just how windy it is here. the solar impulse team promises the wind will die down enough for takeoff at 5 a.m. tomorrow. it will take about 16 hours for them to land at phoenix, arizona, but they say their stop in the bay area has been unforgettable. >> arriving at the golden gate from hawaii and turning in the bay for a couple of hours, that was such an experience. >> reporter: in less than 23 hours the solar impulse 2 will take off to phoenix from moffat field where it sat since its historic landing from hawaii last saturday. crews waited for the wind to die down. >> we could have taken off friday, but there were crest winds that could have pushed the plane too much out of track. >> reporter: they flew 62 hours from hawaii. his co-pilot will take the flight to phoenix in the plane that uses absolutely no fuel. its propellers and batteries are charged instead with thousands of solar panels. the plane can essentially fly forever. the crew is attempting to
