meteorologist, maria molina live in the weather center. very scary stuff, maria. >> sometimes you issue the tornado warnings you can't really see the tornados. some of the tornados could be rain wrapped making it very difficult to see. when you see a tornado warning issued for your county you need to seek shelter immediately. basically where some of the storm reports were issued yesterday. stretches from parts of minnesota through texas. a very scattered or widespread area where we saw severe weather yesterday. and tornado reports, three of them coming southwest of san antonio like you mentioned, causing some damage out there to power lines and trees and surrounding objects. we do have a brand new tornado watch across eastern portions of texas and western louisiana until 5:00 p.m. central time. what tornado watch it means, conditions are favorable for thunderstorms to form in the area and possible large wind gusts and possibly of tornados. we'll keep you updated as storms move through the area. shreveport you're included and lake charles. s

. >> time for the first degree weather update with maria molina. i know you have a serious weather situation. >> we are seeing more tornadoes at this early hour this morning. something to keep in mind when these warnings are issued out at 5:00 in the morning, 5:08. it's dark out you don't see any tornadoes. take them seriously. it was for cameron perish and west central parish. what was going on basically meteorologists have detected rotation in some of the thunderstorms that dump a lot of heavy rain in louisiana. there is a chance they could be on the ground. these storms are moving quickly to the north at 50 miles per hour. you can see them one moment and the next moment they are out of the area. you can see them crawling toward the east coming from missouri to louisiana. the other problem with the storm system is flash flooding we have been getting reports of across louisiana. there's reports avoss southwestern portions of the states there are flooded roadways entering some homes. we will keep you updated on these dangerous situations. you can s

maria molina has more on this. >> hi, uma. we are looking at a severe weather threat. it is not as bad as what we thought. but we had over 700 reports of severe weather and nen tornados are reported . we have a tornado watch in effect for the florida panhandle and southern parts of georgia. this goes until 2:00 p.m. eastern time. what does a tornado watch mean? conditions are favorable for thunderstorms to develop that could produce tornado touchdowns out there with large size hail and win gusts. we have one of those right now that means a tornado is currently on the great and moving to waycross, georgia. it is important that you seek shelter immediately and that means head to your base if you don't have a basement stay away from windows and on the lower floors of your home. they are possible in gainsville and jacksonville, florida. uma we are on deck 2012 is an above average weather season. it is another election day. but more important than the delegates in the washington caucaus is the last bit of the momentum that the gop hopefuls gain in center tuesday. dan spring

meteorologist maria molina is in the fox weather center with what we can expect this week. any better news this week maria? >> reporter: the weather will start to cooperate over the next several days. we're going to see warming in the temperatures and this is bring brining in snow to the area but will move off shore later today. again, we're going to see the dryer and warmer conditions coming up in the next several days, but it's not totally unusual to be seeing snow this time of year across the region. if you take a look at theical today, it's still winter. spring isn't until march 20th. what's unusual is how early the severe storms produced tornado this is time around during the year. it's not unheard of, but nonetheless, this kind of severe weather really until the peak of the season, where we head into the months of april or even may and june, that's when we really see some of the storms of this magnitude that we just saw on march second, from the last storm system. again, we are seeing snow across the region, lighter accumulations, 1-3 inches of snow, and most of the k

maria molina is live. >> unfortunately we're seeing conditions that are basically going to help wildfires spread very quickly. that is the situation that is ongoing across colorado, but further off to the north towards montana and further off across portions in new mexico. take a look at some of the temperatures across colorado, 20 degrees above average, just shy of 90 degrees. over in denver, high temperature of 83 degrees with a lot of sunshine and also very strong winds. up to 40 miles an hour and once you have a fire, it can spread under these conditions, low humidity, less than 107 and gusty winds. as far as temperatures go, it's going to stay warm. as we head into the second half of the weekend you're going to see those very warm temperatures actually spread across the plains, further off to the east across western parts of the carolinas, 30 degrees above average from dakotas down through portions of western kansas and 20 degrees above average in cities like chicago. take a look at the highs tomorrow. we could be seeing a high of 90 degrees in dallas. we remember last year the incre

meteorologist maria molina is live for us in the extreme weather center. >> unfortunatelying, we're lookingsk for severe weather for today. across portions of north carolina and this is the same system that yesterday brought areas of rain from the northeast all the way to the southeast and reports of tornados across areas as far west as southern illinois from the system. and still produce trouble out there. fortunately, right now we don't have any tornado watches or severe watches. localized severe weather occurred, across eastern north carolina. and some damaging wind gusts, but we have another system that we will be tracking coming up this work week and already producing trouble across areas of southern california with areas of rain around l.a. and off the mountainous snow that could top a foot or more over the sierras, and that's going to move to the northeast and produce weather along the areas of the northern plains, including north and south dakota as we head into tomorrow. large sized hail and isolated tornados possible yet again. something we're going to be tracking and that system

maria molina is live with more on that. what's the latest? >> unfortunately, we're looking at a severe weather risk spreading across eastern portions of arkansas, through tennessee, northern alabama and mississippi. we have some activity ongoing now. but the one good piece of information is that currently we don't have any tornado warnings and we want to remind everyone that when those warnings get issued, you got to seek shelter immediately. here is a look at some of those thunderstorms across tennessee, south of nashville and moving through the huntsville area. we have two severe thunderstorm watches in effect, both until 9:00 p.m. central time. that means conditions are favorable for thunderstorms to develop that could produce severe weather and severe weather in the form of large size hail, damaging wind gusts and even isolated tornadoes and we have a number of severe thunderstorm warnings where we're looking at that possibility. large size hail in excess of an inch in diameter. that could cause damage. heads up, the city of memphis, hunt

meteorologist maria molina is with us from the fox weather system. >> the storm system that makes itangerous, how slow moving it is and how much moisture is going to track from areas from texas up through missouri so we'll be looking at a concern as we head into monday and tuesday and unfortunately. the areas could be getting up to eight inches of rain, very dangerous stuff and otherwise right now we have a the lot of snow widespread from parts of arizona, montana, and snowfall accumulations here because it's so cold and also so much moisture, we are talking snow accumulations easily a foot along some of the higher elevations and two or more feet over high elevations like arizona and parts of utah and take you to the severe weather aspect of the storm system. between the colder air and also the warmer air to the east, we have that severe weather potential and currently a tornado watch in parts of the texas panhandle and western oklahoma and that's in effect until 10 p.m. central time. what that means, what a tornado watch means, guys, conditions are stable, for thunderstorms to devel

maria molina live in the fox news extreme weather center and extreme is definitely the word of the day here. >> yeah. we are headed toward the time of the year where we hear of more tornadoes. basically during the months of april and also may into june. that's a peak of severe weather season and we're seeing more as we head into today. yesterday it produced 20 reports of tornadoes along portions of southern illinois, like you saw the images, ohio, western kentucky, through portions of alabama and georgia and today that severe weather risk is further off toward the east, across parts of west virginia, portions of virginia, north carolina, southeastern georgia and also northeastern florida where we have a number of watches all in effect through tonight. there is one that's a tornado watch. conditionsconditions are favorae thunderstorms to develop that could produce tornado touchdowns and unfortunately, we do have two tornado warnings right now where we could currently tornado on the ground or could have one very shortly. that's just to the west of the town of danville in virginia. just t
