the same system with flooding in michigan, dumping 3 inches of snow in chicago and maria molina saw ita mile away. hello, maria. maria: what a mess. snow, flooding and even the risk for severe weather yet again today. yesterday close to 50 reported threats of severe weather including damaging wind, hail from texas into mississippi and even louisiana, today it will be a little bit further off toward the east. southeastern georgia and north carolina with southeastern virginia. this area has a chance to see isolated tornadoes and even hail. as far as it goes across the northeast, it is going to be cold enough that you are going to see the rain in the form of snow, but accumulations will be relatively light, maybe heavier amounts especially in the higher elevations. that one could produce significant snowfall, but the threat for flooding is very real. heavy rain all the way down to florida as well. there are some watches in effect. bill: how often do you see snow in mid april? maria: not very often. it has a little snow. hopefully you do not put away that coat just yet. bill: a lot of view

maria molina, what do you say? >> reporter: crews are going to be heading out and observing the damage in north carolina. but we had two confirmed tornado. one in mississippi. this was one an ef2. it was on the ground for 22 minutes and left a path lane of 62 miles. in alabama we had an ef-0 confirmed. the storm farther toward the east it's producing rain from new england down into florida and there is a chance that we could see isolated severe weather and that does include parts of florida including orlando and also miami, and farther west. those states we just mentioned alabama and mississippi we are expecting another round of thunderstorms that could produce isolated severe weather. that's as we head up to tonight and this evening. the store system will continue moving eastward later today, and there is also the possibility for more flooding. this time around in parts of new england, across parts of maine and new hampshire. we have temperatures warming up into the 60s. all that snow across new england will be me

maria molina from the fox weather center. maria. >> hello, everybody, that's right.e're looking at a risk for severe weather for today and right now our storm system is rolling through parts of ohio, kentucky and state of west virginia. this brings good news for the state of new jersey that has been dealing with wildfires. that will bring much-needed moisture to that region. across virginia and north carolina including cities like richmond, raleigh, jacksonville, we're looking at a risk for thunderstorms especially this afternoon and evening that could produce large hail, damaging winds, potentially in excess of 58 miles per hour and some isolated tornadoes. i want to take you ahead into this weekend between saturday, sunday and mondaying we would look at our first multiday severe weather outbreak for the season. this is across the center of the country. we have an area of low pressure exiting the rockies. ahead of it we have lot of moisture and very warm temperatures. right in there across parts of texas, parts of oklahoma, into arkansas we could see severe weather.

let's go to maria molina now. maria, save me. >> unfortunately we have astem we're tracking today.exas up to parts of ohio. there is one region across parts of missouri, arkansas, western tennessee, including memphis, and northwestern parts of mississippi that could looking at dangerous weather including violent tornadoes. you need to make sure you have a way to get those warnings. the storm system does head east tomorrow. it is just a slight risk but we have that chance tomorrow from parts of louisiana into parts ofç southwestern pennsylvania to see strong to severe storms. very heavy rain expected with the storm system. flash flooding is a concern across parts of the midwest and we have a number of watches in effect out here and already flash flood warnings because it's already started to rain heavily out here and we're expecting several more inches of rain. potentiallily, locally more than four inches in some areas. on the cold side of it, winter storm warnings in effect from parts of south dakota into wisconsin. we're expecting a foot of snow, strong winds. that's a big issue
