meteorologist maria molina live in our fox weather center. >> that's right, when it starts to get this hot were talking about concerns with heat illnesses such as heatstroke and let me share some of these numbers because they aren't that bad just yet. in kansas city you are at 87 degrees, 85 in chicago but take a look at what happens when you factor in the humidity and these numbers highlight what it feels like when you have the door so your current heat index values in chicago already in the 90s, middle to upper 90s in kansas city, memphis and portions of oklahoma and it's only forecast out here to expand over the next couple of days.it currently feels like 100 degrees. because of how hot it is, the accommodation of hot temperatures and high humidity, we have a number of the advisories in effect for a very wide section of the nation across the midwest, parts of the planes and extending down into portions of louisiana and here's the forecast coming up later today. places along the ghost both coast could get hotter, or talking in jackson mississippi 106 degrees is what could feel like t

fox meteorologist maria molina tells us it's going to be a glorious holiday weekend and we all couldext couple of days, starting off, the areas will include the northeast, parts of the mid atlantic, down into the carolinas, and farther west across portions of the central plains and here we're looking at the damaging winds and hail and isolated tornados and as we kick off the weekend on saturday, i'm told the weather will continue across the portions of the central plains and the carolinas. looking at several days of mess and across the central plains, the concern isn't just for storms that could bring severe weather, but flash flooding as we're going to pick up heavy rain, potentially four to six inches across oklahoma, kansas, missouri, even extending into illinois and because of the flood threat we have a number of flash flood watches that have been issued here and will be sticking around throughout the weekend. otherwise for fourth of july, what everyone wants to know, is it going to be raining or not. can they do outdoor plans? if you live in parts of the midwest and also in the

maria molina is here with our fourth of july forecast. good morning. >> good morning.s been a wild weather weekend. unfortunately many people visiting with their families. take a look at what we've seen. in places like oklahoma, we actually saw a tornado yesterday. this is reported in the afternoon hours. you can see on your screen in rural oklahoma. there are also reports of flash flooding occurring across parts of kansas and the flash flood threat will actually continue through the day today across other areas farther east as the storm system continues on the move. it's a very slow moving storm system. as you see on your map, you can see we're expecting severe weather from texas to parts of the carolinas. there's a risk of severe weather with damaging winds, hail, isolated tornadoes being possible. flash flood watches out there for most of the states that continues the front with the focus of more showers and storms. forecast high temperatures today are going to be on the hot side yet again across the southern plains and southeast. let's head back inside. >>> three m

let's send it outside to maria molina. she has a look at the weather for us. we are tracking some messy weather across some parts of the country, but here in new york it's a beautiful day. some sunshine and pleasant temperatures. but as you head south of here and also west, we have some areas of disturbed weather we're expecting to see develop this afternoon and into tonight with the potential for some damaging winds, even isolated tornadoes. the concern across the plains and the upper midwest, several days of unsettled weather even as we head into tomorrow and even on wednesday. we could see a threat for some flash flooding across several states out there. otherwise n the pacific northwest, temperatures remain below average. as much as 10 or 15 degrees below average in some areas. places like missoula is expecting 68 degrees. but across the center of the nation, loose at the forecast highs. 91 degrees expected in minneapolis. triple digits across texas and then when you factor in the humidity, those numbers get even higher when you're looking at heat index va

. >>> maria molina will have the forecast. >> good morning.ng several areas of thunderstorms across the nation and we want to kick it off starting off with what we're expecting today because across portions of the northeast, mid-atlantic and even in the central plains you could be seeing some storms that could bring some isolated severe weather. that will be a concern. not too much of a concern in terms of severe weather across the southwestern u.s. today. you could be seeing some storms. that's something else to keep an eye on. as we head into tomorrow, severe storms could continue to be possible especially across portions of the central plains. because we're expecting several rounds of wet weather out there across places like kansas and missouri, 4 to 6 inches of rainfall, the concern for flash flooding will be in place. let's skip ahead to the forecast that everyone wants to know, which is what it's going to look like out there on 4th of july. many areas are expecting hot temperatures in the southern plains. you're talking triple digit heat

maria molina in our weather center with the possibility of rain. >> maybe even some cancellations, youalking severe weather and possible flooding. but many other areas you are looking good. you are talking temperatures that are pleasant. minneapolis, you will be at 82 degrees this afternoon where you have to be careful in terms of the heat. out there we are not just dealing with forecasts, very hot temperatures like in atlanta at 94 and dallas 99. you have got to be careful with outdoormans and barbeques. otherwise, this afternoon and evening there will be some thunderstorms in the fork and some of these could bring severe weather. damaging winds. large hail and isolated tornadoes. yesterday we had a tornado reported in oklahoma *. farther west into portions of the plains and the northern plains you also have that risk for severe storms. several inches of rain of additional rain are in the work. is it going to rain this evening? that's what matters to many of you. in places like d.c. the forecast calls for showers and storms during the evening hours when we would see those fireworks go

maria molina tells us what kind of a day we have all across the country. >> well, unfortunately here some thunderstorms. it's warm and muggy. a lot of humidity in place out here. there will be a front that's going to be swinging through the region, bringing in that chance for showers and storms and even potentially some severe weather. not only in the northeast, but even as we head farther west across portions of the central plains. there's a chance for some large hail, damaging winds, even an isolated tornado. the problem across portions of the plains is that you're expecting days of storms. out there, there's a threat for some flash flooding as well. the ground will be saturated with days of rain and the potential for an additional severe weather as we head into tomorrow. temperatures, we mentioned they're warm across portions of the northeast. in the southeast, they're darn right just hot. 98 in raleigh and across parts of the plains. into the triple digits in dallas and dell rio. the heat index values will be climbing into the triple digits as well. and it could feel like 102 in
