. >> joining us is steve kornacki, my colleague and the co-host of "the cycle" on msnbc and maria teresa kumarributor and the president of voter latino. steve, a new political poll shows the president getting high marks for personal likability, as you can see. well ahead of romney. does he risk that likability by going in tomorrow and throwing some punches? >> to a certain extent, but i happen to think that's a little bit of an overrated concern because you saw the opposite. you saw, i think, the strategy the last time was to preserve the likability. entirely different problem developed, and that is the guy just looked weak. he looked like he didn't have any fight, didn't have any life in him. i think there's a hope on viewers' parts they're going to he see the guy has some blood in his veins. if that means pressing romney harder, if that means raising questions about romney's tax plan that he didn't raise in the first debate very aggressively, i think that's a chance at this point -- >> the 47% for example. >> being too nice just gave romney one of the biggest debate bounces we've ever seen.
